consecrated/desecrated ground specifics?

Do we know exactly how these function?

I've heard that Consecrated Ground is 5% maximum life regen/s while standing on it. Haven't heard anything about Desecrated Ground.

Bought a Lightbane Raiment on the cheap after patch, leveled up a block based Templar high enough to use it the last few days. Jackpot, level 47, time to try this bad boy out, desecrate ground sounds so cool. Nice, fuzzy little black mold or something all over the ground. Hm... damage? Nope, not seeing it, wait, yep, life is just barely creeping down. Had to turn off Tempest shield and try to mentally filter out the chaos damage thorns (not too hard, the 20 damage each time I'm hit is obviously more than the Desecrate DoT) Tried it out in lowbie areas as well, HP just barely creep down.

Negatives: Desecrate damage is abysmal.

Positives: It appears to be percentage based, so there is at least scaling potential.

I'm hoping someone put a decimal point in the wrong place GGG, I was super excited about this unique.

TLDR?: Lightbane Raiment... I am disappoint.

I have tried out consecreated ground and its pretty impressive. Too bad its on a friggin awful chest or I would be all over it. I'm not sure if its good enough to justify using it beyond lvling, which is sad. Hopefully they put out this mechanic in other forms or on other equipment.

I mentioned before how vague the mechanics in this game are especially in how they are presented in the game in the skill descriptions but I always get stupid trolls telling me how it's not vaguue, but tell me how is consecrated/desecrated NOT vague??

anyway if it is 5% that's nice and all because you can finally replace your springleaf for some 10 exalt mega ES shield. Only caveat you have to use this crappy chest though. But overall you might still make a ES/regen profit

until you get shavronne's which outclasses all LowLife chests by infinity

Sorry for the necro.... but I'm interested in using the Gifts from Above ring and wanted some clarification on Consecrated Ground... is it confirmed 5% regen? That's pretty insane.. wonder if there's a way to keep it permenantly on and run Righteous Fire on Life a lot easier..

No, Consecrated Ground's duration is very short, only a handful of seconds. In practice, it's a light dew of fairy dust that's gone before you notice.

any updates on this since we have DOT passives now will desecrated ground be a viable build now?
