Constant FPS drops since 0.3.0b
Hey guys
Since patch 0.3.0b i've been experiencing severe FPS drops every few seconds, even when I'm just standing around. Before the patch, I had a maximum of about 120 to 130 FPS, but now it constantly fluctuates between 90 and 20 FPS. My performance has also significantly decreased with the latest patch. I get micro-freezes instead of frame-drops, though.
I used to get a couple of the known "spinning-wheel" freeze and recover back into the game a day and that was it. Now with the latest patch I get like 20 micro-freezes per map and usually one of the big freeze -> spinning wheels -> recover (which often times equates to death if pause is not pressed immediately). Nothing has changes on my end. Same settings, same build - only new patch |

Hi,
I've run into a similar issue where the game starts with max fps around 110 to 120 fps, and as you continue playing they degrade down to 30fps max. It happens around 30 minutes from starting the client, and making changes to the graphic options does not seem to have any effect whatsoever. Additionally, the /clear command in the chat does not make a difference. I've already cleared the shader cache and upped the Nvidia Shader Cache Size to 100GB and the behavior does not change. Help? |

" For you specifically. If you are using NVIDIA graphic card. Download and downgrade NVIDIA drivers to 576.88, perform clean install with DDU + delete all PoE2 shader cache. (If you are using AMD card, I have no idea. Me and other people had problems with newer NVIDIA drivers, causing FPS downgrade. 576.88 fixed the FPS downgrade for us.) I changed the Image Quality setting from Quality to Ultra Performance. The severe drops every few seconds no longer occur for me. Unfortunately, this is only a workaround and not a real solution.

I cannot even get DLSS to work properly. My FPS has dropped so much from 0.2.x to 0.3.x that it feels like I went from DX11 to DX12 in a modern game... Just played act two for the first time, and I was getting constant 40 FPS while on the caravan, didn't matter if the instance was busy or not. In any map, I can barely get around 70FPS, where I use to get a smooth gameplay around 100+.
The game resets my DLSS settings each time I boot up the game. It defaults to balanced, even when I set it to Ultra Performance. This is all with an RTX 4080 Super. |

" I'm running an Nvidia card, have already cleared the cache when I first found the issue, and am using the 581.15. Performance in other games is great, and prior to patch 0.3 I did not observe these regressions. I've captured the regression, and how I get around it here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2559554747 (Sorry it's really long - but in that session I had to kill and restart the client at least 3 times) Considering I'm on a later version of the driver, would you expect reverting to the older version to help avoid the slow degradation of performance? I'll probably give it a shot later today - but I don't have high hopes. Thanks for the tip and I'll report back the results. |

" No game should need 100GB cache to run... No game should even need 5GB cache to run. This is just forcing the hardware to accept complete software failure. |

This patch broke the game for me. It's unplayable until fixed.
30 second game lags and when it comes back it comes back all at once typically resulting in a death I don't even know its origin. Currently mapping at lvl 87, unable to advance due to exp penalty for lag death. I've lost about 2 levels of exp over this so far so I'm not real keen to get back in until this is resolved and publicly announce as fixed. |
