Point-and-click needs some love!
Hey, so I know most people like WASD movement — and it feels amazing! But it seems GGG has completely ignored point-and-click movement to the point where some basic functions just aren’t implemented.
WASD feels great, but it seems to have come at the detriment of point-and-click. The two movement types don’t seem to be separated properly. For example, when casting an ability, you’re unable to lock onto an enemy and move around — something you can do with WASD. You could also do this in PoE 1. Additionally, you can’t move while using a channeled ability with point-and-click, whereas with WASD, you’re free to move. This makes the game extremely unpleasant to play with point-and-click. WASD, on some builds, requires too many buttons and just isn’t something a lot of us want to use. Plus, us old-timers get cramps playing with WASD — lol. I’m not posting this as a “GGG bad” rant. I’m posting this in hopes that it gets some traction and GGG can see that point-and-click movement really needs some basic functionality. As it stands, it’s almost unplayable at times. Much love :) Last bumped on Sep 2, 2025, 10:46:37 PM

im afraid this is just how the game always will be now, especially with how popular WASD is.
I recommend playing mace builds, they cant move while attacking anyway and it feels good to play with mouse. Bows, crossbows and a lot of spells feels pretty bad, almost unplayable at times. | |
I think GGG will fix it, though I don't think GGG know it is an issue. I think they all play WASD now and never even bother to play point and click. It was instant for me the moment I played on the beach of the 1st beta.
Hope they fix it though. |
