"The Search" questline progression is blocked due to event glitch in Arastas

1. I was at the point of the questline where I talk to Missionary Lorandis.

2. I talked to him, and entered the cathedral.

3. I got invited to join a party, accepted, and teleported back to Kingsmarch.

4. I went back to Arastas, but the questline had advanced to "Ask someone about the weapon". However, the state of the town was still at "talk to Lorandis", so there were guards blocking the upper pathway that leads forward.


What I assume happend - Apparently, there's a whole scene of commotion outside the cathedral that I didn't even witness because I ported back to town. However, when I joined my friend in a party, his questline progression was already at "Ask someone about the weapon". He went to Arastas first, and when I ported to him, I was advanced to the "ask someone about the weapon" progression, but the town didn't change.

However, I was able to port to him once he reached The Excavation, and we killed the boss. HOWEVER, when I retuned to Kingsmarch, the questline status is "Speak to Rhodri", but Rhodri is nowhere to be found. I don't see him at all on the minimap or in town.


My quest progression in Act 4 is currently stuck.


edit: Apparently the next step is to talk to The Hooded One in town, but when I'm in town, he doesn't not have an "!" above his head to progress the questline.

edit 2: I went to Ngakanu, and apparently the quest to kill the Act 4 boss was active, so I did that and now I can progress to the 3 mini-acts.

have you tried going to some other location. then go to waypoint>open it>Ctrl+Click on Arastas, it should offer you to open new instance, usually it helps restart sequence of events in quest

Yup, I tried creating a new instance. Didn't work.

Same thing here happened, teleported back and now it cant decide what state I'm in. Any fixes apart from praying someone else is doing the same thing?

Okay, if you interact with this missionary guy again, its grey out but if you spam it, it restarts the cycle. This needs attention devs! :)
