PoE 2 needs some optimization improvement for better performance! (Suggestion)
I'm playing PoE2 during this free weekend. I'm really pleased with what I've seen of the game so far, and I can't wait for the final version. I'm playing on a laptop with below-recommended specs, a Ryzen 7 5700u, 12GB of RAM, and an RX Vega 8 graphics card (equivalent to a GTX 1050 Ti), and the game runs relatively well. There are some FPS drops when there's a lot of activity on the screen, something that also happens frequently in PoE1, but overall, it's playable. I believe that better optimization can be done before the final version is released, which would significantly increase PoE2's performance even on weaker hardware. This is my suggestion for something that could be done and will certainly please the game's community.

And before anyone criticizes computer hardware, empyrian gaming was criticizing this as well. He pointed out that his group all have high end CPUs and GPUs, and the game does not perform well on their computers either.
This game definitely is in dire need of some optimization. |

Yes, especially needs better optimization of animations, and spell effects. Hopefully an option is added to adjust that, individually for player, enemy, and allies as it is currently very well known that Witch with the Vaal Guards and Arsonists will massively reduce fps. In late game, my pc drops from 120 fps, down to around 30 in particularly hectic fights!

1050 Ti is like 10 years old at this point. No matter what you do with the game it will never run well on it and game should not be optimised around that. The gpu just doesn't have enough hardware to handle modern games. Even if you buy a cheap card like 5060 ti or something it will be like 3 times better than a 1050 ti (given that you have a decent cpu as well).
I'm playing with a 9070XT and have fps drops down to the 70's which is crazy on a high end gpu. Possibly even lower in some cases with crazy skill effects on the screen. Last edited by Ispita#4020 on Sep 1, 2025, 3:07:57 AM
