Darkness Bugs. 0.3
I saw there was another entry about darkness bugs from 2024, and there were no replies, so it seems the same bugs are present at time of writing.
DoT is acting odd with darkness: when standing in a DOT, your darkness remains full, but ES drains, then when ES hits 0 darkness auto shoots to 0 and health starts to fall. So either Darkness was taking the dmg first and the darkness bar is missleading, or it just dosent work properly for DOT. as for the tooltip is says darkness reserve takes all dmg before any ES or Health, but it seems it may not be working. also when playing with the health bar above the player, darkness is no where to be seen. i think this could be a really good QOL upgrade to show some purple bar or some kind of indication if you have darkness or not. specially for the HC players. thank you hopefuly this can be looked into/ fixed asap. lots of fun so far on this update. This has been really annoying to deal with especially considering the new ground effects from the Abyss mechanic. They're very hard to see and I'm often wondering why I'm taking so much damage. I watch the replay and it's because I was standing in a pool, ES got drained, my Darkness got set to 0 instantly, and then I'm taking life damage. DoTs like Ignite or Poison can be mitigated with charms, but that is not the case with Abyss mobs. Hope they fix this soon.

+1 I have exactly the same problem and being in hardcore with your main defensive tool bugged feels really bad

+1 Same, especially with shade walker - it will literally instantly set 1.4k darkness to 0 and then take 5-6 seconds to get through my 1.3k health. Something is off.

A bug with darkness lasting as a minimum since 0.2.0. Yesterday I discovered that the residual damage goes directly into the HP and ignores the energetic shield. I got hit by a strong AOE boss and all the darkness ended and the rest went into HP, while the energy shield remained at 100%. Hey GGG, I'm playing on the HC league and I'm counting on the protective mechanics of darkness, but it's just getting unbearable with these bugs. Is it really impossible to fix one of the main mechanism after more than half a year?
