Can't open PoE on XP on Parallels.‏

yeah.. that'd make sense honestly. VMWare does the same thing. It's an emulated video card, not direct access to your real video card... so although you might have a GT650M, it only shows up as a virtual device.

You may want to look for drivers for the parallels adapter I suppose. I'm not really familiar with that whole setup, but if it is anything like using VMWare, you won't be able to really play games on it due to the emulated hardware limitations.

Your best bet honestly is to use bootcamp or something to boot Windows directly, or get the unofficial mac port working under Wine.

I myself run a Debian machine so I use wine to play Path of Exile and it works great honestly. I'm not sure what issues you have with the unofficial mac client, but I'd attempt to get that working instead if it were me. Seems like it would work better in the long run and you'd be playing with actual hardware rather than emulated hardware.

Edit: the cursor problem is due to playing in the Windowed/Maximized setting vs using just Windowed or Fullscreen. There is a problem with the cursor location due to the offsets of the taskbar, etc as far as I can tell. This problem goes away completely if you use Fullscreen, or just a standard Windowed mode rather than Windowed/Maximized. You can also modify the wine properties to create a "desktop" window to play in of a certain size which also might work better for you.

Will look into bootcamp and also fixing wine.

The cursor thing, i know, i have tried every single resolution, windowed and fullscreen, and also editing the text file to make a custom size.
No luck. Don't know why, just seems to work for other people but hey ho.

The main issue with wine is that it crashes every hour. Pretty annoying but at least it runs.

Time to give up on parallels then. Doesn't look like I'll play any games on it. (surely the only reason to run pc on a mac).

Check out the wine thread if you have issues. Most are related to old and buggy wine versions.
