I would love to agree with you on this part but honestly I see about the same mistakes going forward... for example they could've made those lineage support gems all about customization and specifically exclude "straight up power upgrades" as Jonathan said himself about one of them in the recent trailer.

So players will have to choose between power upgrades and customization yet again... and just by looking at those damage scaling effects I can tell you what the most popular choices will be.
