Announcing Path of Exile 2: The Third Edict
While I welcome some skill changes, I fear that if they simplify things even more, it will become too easy and thus lose its appeal compared to Diablo 4. The fact that player feedback is being addressed is undoubtedly great. But please not too much! A certain increased difficulty and complexity compared to other ARPGs must be maintained. I don't want another Diablo 4. Thanks.

" And you can be the guy that actually reads the post before replying to it. 4 month cycles without updates is not a common choice for developers in EA for a good reason, yet GGG went for that. I'm completely against it BECAUSE i want to playtest and give feedback on a regular basis. Also, I was a part of BG3 EA since the very beggining - and in a game with hundreds of hours of cut scenes, voiced npcs, you could try most of classes and archetypes that were in 1.0 (until lv 5) almost since the beginning, so the players can playtest their main character options and mechanics(duh). I will remind you that this POE2 is an ARPG though, also one that was initially announced to be in EA for 6-12 months, which is the complaint I ain't even voicing. Now we get 4 month patch cycles, and what; they "consolidated" our 4 month feedback and put out THIS 0.3.0? Am i supposed to be happy about another bad approach to gems, rehash of POE1 league, trade "solution" that has been around for 20 years now? Also, if you are indeed interested about my constructive and ignored feedback (defenses, attributes, passive tree i.e) you are free to look at my posts and threads. I couldn't care less about druid personally, but it is ignorant to think that getting 0.3.0 out without a new class or weapon or ascendancy could ever achieve success just looking at other attempts of doing so for an ARPG game in EA. |

Awesome over all. For me the only big things that is left is the option to pick the layout of the maps.
For the new trade system, no idea how the code works, but isnt it better to item that we want to buy to be loaded directly into ''our'' npc trader and we take it from there. This way we skip like 10+ people loading in your hideout in the same time to get what they want situation and probably causing mass disconnects. |

" Oddly enough I thought with some of the new interactions they were actually adding in more complexity. Or at least the need to experiment to see what you can do with it. To the point with all the adjustments and added interactions... I'm not sure exactly what you think has been made easier. Maybe I just missed it. After I read through the patch notes and saw a lot of the nerfs to various things it certainly seemed like you were going to have to work more for the outcome you want. |

Not sure why I'm getting random double posts.

Many steps in the right direction in the patch - thanks!
We'll see what the economic effects of the asynchronous trade system will be, but a few logistical questions seem obvious. 1) Hideouts could get crowded. If there's a limit to hideout visitors, will buyers get "hideout is full" messages or just the old good "unable to join any instances"? 2) Will it be possible to troll buyers by making Ange impossible to access for hideout visitors? Or even turning hideouts into puzzle mini games where she is difficult but not impossible to reach? 3) If lots of people teleport to the hideout to buy the same item at once, I guess it's just a race to see which one finds Ange and trades with her first. Imagine the sinking feeling of listing an item in the wrong currency, seeing your hideout instantly fill with visitors, and realizing you listed it in ex not d as the horde descends on Ange while you're unable to correct the price. This will be funny and sad. Or on the other hand - you're trying to buy something that appeared on live search and when you show up in the HO there's a pack of other players darting around looking for Ange. There could be a dedicated MS build just for sniping. All of these would go away if we could buy from Ange in our own hideouts. Can't wait to see 0.3.0 in action! |

1. Why do we need to convert the tabs? (it could be a flag like public or private tab in the game right now)
2. Can they be converted back again? 3. Does new trade tabs count as your inventor or do need to switch between your inventory and the NPC? |

" I think your concerns are mostly justified. But regarding question 3 it was my understanding from the stream that you reserve an item from the trade site and then go the sellers hideout. |

" That's a good point, although a system where people simply couldn't reserve and join if an item had already been reserved by someone else would open up trolling opportunities of its own, even if they required some hideout camping. I suppose this would also create situations where, while "browsing the shop" as Mark described, you'd see items disappear not because they were purchased but simply because they were reserved. And now that I'm thinking about it I guess the workaround for the price change timing restriction is to have a second account running that you can use to buy your own stuff. Obviously this is not bulletproof because likely the way you'll know the item is mispriced is that it will sell to someone else. And of course the better move is just not to misprice in the first place. It's probably not worth the effort to start multiboxing just for this but it would be a new advantage for the people who already run second accounts. |
