Info about new season that begin at the end of August

I bought the game about a week ago to play on my ROG Ally X. I'm at level 31 at the Faridun Caravan assault point, Act II. I'm enjoying the game; after all, I've always liked Diablo-style RPGs. I'd like to understand how it works with the new season: will my character be reset? Will I start from scratch? Or is there a league where the character remains? Thank you.

Every four months, a new league will release. Entering a new league requires creating a new character. Existing characters (from older leagues) will still be playable, but they will move to and exist in a non-league state. Think of it like a playable character graveyard.

So basically, if you want to play the newest content, you'll need to create a new character/s every four months.

It should be noted that what counts as "newest content" in your statement applies to any new temporary 4-month league mechanics only.

When new permanent content is implemented as part of the base game, it is also implemented into standard leagues and is accessible to all pre-existing characters there, despite also being "new content".

For many new players "leagues" seem like extraneous complexity and they'll choose to start out in a standard league because they preseume it will simplify the experience and the fact that it's permanent grants a sense of stability. When you "don't know what you don't know", keeping things simple until you can find your footing is a pragmatic choice.

So we need the Service Announcement for them:

If any new player reads this - don't bother starting in the standard leagues, they are for old characters and "testing things" lol. You can always go back and play an old character you really liked within them if you want to, but typically new league mechanics will add a certain 'flair' to the game and keep it 'fresh' - and it's where everyone else is playing.

Some people enjoy playing standard, and POE2 will be no different.
Stop acting like there is only one way to play the game.

league purists have to talk down to everyone else and treat other people like they do not exist.

It is not just for testing , some people prefer playing on standard, and it has nothing to do with the reasons you stated.

No need for the elitism.
