Shield Wall's AoE is far smaller than the gem indicates, and overlaps are strange and inconsistent.
I did some testing with Seismic Cry with a radius of 4.5m to space a stationary boss to the very edge of its aoe. I then used Shield Wall with a supposed radius of 6.6m and landed absolutely zero hits, even with Resolute Technique. In order for any of the wall sections to hit whatsoever I needed to move to around ~3m, and even at that distance only 1 or 2 landed.
For most of them to land I essentially needed to be entirely inside the enemy's hitbox, which makes no sense considering the 6.6m radius on the tin with my specific AoE investment. I have a sneaking suspicion that area of effect passives and supports literally don't affect the skill despite reading higher in the tooltip. There are other bug reports about area attack damage and the Concentrated Effect support not affecting the skill, so it it possible there is a missing 'Area' tag internally in the game code? In addition, if you place multiple Shield Walls down simultaneously, it seems that only a single one will hit the enemy, which makes little sense considering the design of the skill allows the player to place up to 4 down at a time. It almost seems like the area of effect collides with the *other* shield walls for some reason and prevents it from hitting the enemy. All together these issues severely hamper the performance of the skill, to the point to where its generally not viable to use it over an alternative with no touchy inconsistencies, such as Shield Charge. It's a shame because I really do enjoy the skill design, and love the idea of slowly placing down a pile of shield walls and blowing them all up on an enemy.
