One merc deleted and the other replaced with no option to swap them

I hired a swiftblade earlier today and it removed my current merc and one i had in reserve. No option to replace was presented. As i was screaming at the game I lost all my good uniques i had on my current mercenary with no option to swap them over to the one i was hiring.
