Is there a better way to remove a prefix than 'suffixes cannot be changed' + annul orb?

Can you Eldritch the item? If so, use the Eldritch Orb of Annulment. If you have 3 suffixes you can use the Wild Bristle Matron beast to cheaply craft suffixes cannot be changed. On trade they're usually 1/4th to 1/2 the benchcraft cost.
