Quest Markers
Hello,
I am getting quite annoyed by these questmarkers. I think they got introduced in WoW. At the time it was new and it was proper. I think the game wouldn't have worked without them. But I can remember a time where games would instead just play a cutscene at certain points or just automatically engage you in a diaglogue. Where's the point in quest markers? Why are games not doing the old-fashioned way anymore? Seems to me the reason WoW used quest markers was, because it was an open world. Not really the case here, is it? Is there really a benefit in using them over just making you engage in dialogue automatically? Would it be too much to ask if dialogue was simply flavour and not quest-related? Are quests even necessary for a game like this to work? Does the player get some kind of feeling of agency if you make them click on a person, because they have some kind of giant, weird looking relic-thing above their head? Anyway, so much about quest markers. In kind regards Last edited by Naharez#3496 on Jul 25, 2025, 7:49:57 AM Last bumped on Jul 25, 2025, 7:48:42 AM
