- SUGGESTION - XP Loss on Death

Allow one death without EXP LOSS every 24h of play time.
If you die there would be a timer that would reduce only if you play outside of hideouts.

This should give a second chance and reduce the frustration. It won't also allow unbalanced builds to get away with it.

It would be nice to lose only the xp gained on the last istance but it's not gonna happen :D
I don't see how this solves anything. If you die once every 24 hours of playtime outside of hideouts, then you have no problem with XP loss. That would be like 1 death every 50+ maps

Well if you die more than every 50 maps it means that there is a problem that needs balancing.
It doesn't make the game easy but it gives you an extra chance in addition to the omen. It's more forgiving but keeps the challenge

I don't see how 1 death even every 30 maps is a balance problem. Dying is a part of standard mode. It's a game

Mate yes, it's a game. I'm not an elitist or a snob. It's just that if you want to reach level 100 you need to have a super carefully balanced build. No pressure, if you don't want to do it. For example after hitting 100 I reduced my ES from 9.6k to 5k with a third more dps. It's funnier and most of the maps I clear np, but every 30 maps or so I will die. It's playable and fun, and probably with this setup you can get to level 98 but not to level 100. My suggestion is more about allowing the players to have one mistake or an 'accident' on a very shitty combo that happens once in a while.

Noone likes xp loss, sure. That much we can agree. But then again, noone feels something is an accomplishment if everyone can/will/may do it.

And that is what level 100 is.

Heck, i've played PoE since the very start and haven't had a level 100 yet. Why? Well, i could have. But as some have hinted at, i've opted for fun gameplay with the odd death rather than going super safe and reaching "the end".

To each their own, and that is all fine.

So, please don't ask to change something that isn't actually broken. If you want to reach level 100 so bad, it means putting in the work and being super careful all the way. Not just most of the time. ALL the way. And it may not be any fun at all to do that, but you decide what you want to do.

---

There are many MUCH larger issues that ought to be fixed in PoE2-EA than this. Please, don't keep asking for changes that are not critical (or even needed at all i might add).

Exactly, that's why it brought me to look for a middle ground, even if me, personally I'm fine as it is tbh. But I wouldn't mind that suggestion or a reduction of the exp lost.

I can understand why you want this, but this way is no possible solution. Let's say you play each day 1h max (maybe less), so you can play 1-3 maps each day (think about chatting time, micromanagement or other things that stop you from mapping). In result you can die much more often than people playing 3h and more each day or that play one day each week, but 5 hours at once.

I don't have a strong opinion about any kind of such EXP-protection. I do not care if such function exist or not. But if it exist it would make more sense to bind it to map count (every nth map you get the 1 time protection) or binding to EXP gain (every 50% of each level or every level you have such one time protection) etc. Only such kind of systems are fair to everyone. Another possibility would be to increase the spawn rate of "only lose 2.5% EXP" items (forgot the name). I would recommend to discuss this further in such direction and drop the idea of "every x time".
