Playing POE1 league I now understand the main critics about POE2.
Esp in terms of speed.....I think GGG misunderstood the critics of the community here.
It's NOT about "kill speed" and clearing 100 screens in 1 second while zooming through the map.....me and many fans love the more meaningful fight approach in POE2 and want it to stay that way. But the current problem in POE2 is the "action speed".....most movements and animation feel so sluggish, clunky and slow it feels like walking with shoes full with chewing gums on the sole through a freshly tared street on a hot summer day. Even with my endgame character this situation doesen't become better.....it feels so slow and sluggish animation vise, it simply doesen't feel good (It's the same feeling like in RPGs when you reach the backpack limit and your character starts to walk in a slow and sluggish manner till you throw out a pile of stones f.e.). ^^ Yes they're some exceptions esp with Monk and Huntres in late endgame but most of the skills and movement are not there action speed vise. Conclusion: Yes we want meaningful fights and not 1-taping all content (for this playstyle we have POE1) but please make our movements in POE2 faster and esp the action speed more fluent. With "movements faster" I mean the fluidity between pressing the button and the character executing the movement...currently it feels a bit sluggish for many skills. And to balance the higher "action speed" (the animation speed of skills) just increase mob life a little bit or better: give mobs dodge or even counter animations, so fights feel more dynamic while having fluent character fight animations. " I doubt it they don't understand something. It's quite opposite. What I would say it that people don't understand that this "Early Access" is literally only time they can really experiment with their ideas. It's not even 0.3.0 and we have boots with 55% movement speed. Besides they said they will address walking pack to pack issue in 0.3.0 so. Future is bright. " Don't say that they don't understand, just due to the latest Q&A talks that they've probably misunderstood the critics in terms of "speed & pacing" a little bit (But can be wrong here, it's just my subjective impression listening to the Q&As). While Jonnathan talked about movement speed in general and that increasing MS would make the game "to easy" the main problem is more the action speed and the feel of the character when using a skill. And I'm sure they'll do an amazing job and with 1.0 release the game will be a masterpiece.....they have very smart heads in theyr team and the most important: People who actually play theyr own game. Just wanted to left a feedback here becasue I mean that's the whole point of an Early Access Beta and a game feedback forum: To test stuff & give constructive feedback. What the devs will do with all the information is up to them and I'm surely the last one who will force them to implement this or change that and call the game bad if they don't do so. " That's why I've wrote "most movements and animations" in the initial thread, not "all". ;) I also wrote: " Ofc the handfull of meta skills & classes work fine and those should be the template for those who don't feeld that great. I mean in 0.2 we practicaly have "Path of Lightning Spear" because everything else feels kinda worse in comparison.....not only clear & damage vise, also action speed vise an how the character behave in general when using a skill. And suggestiong me to play another archtype won't fix the problem....we're here to test all archtypes and give feedback, so all of them feel good in 1.0 release, don't you think so? ;) |

Quite opposite, as a long term part of the amazing POE community I highly valuate the knowledge, oppinions and constructive critics of all the Veterans and also the high knowledge of the devs who are so kind to spend theyr time to answere FAQs of the community...So please, don't accuse me of things that are not true. And what exactly is your purpose of harassing me here without adding own constructive additions to the topic?....just keep scrolling if you are not able to have a constructive and friendly conversations with other human beings and rather insult others for nothing. " It's not that easy but I'm prety sure GGG will know what to do when adjusting the action speed of different classes and esp in combination with certain skills.....it's not magicaly solved if you give all classes 10% action speed (It actually does nothing becasue some classes need more adjustments than others so ALL classes feel good, not just your favorite ones). You said it yourself, you've played only Deadeye so far and probably only imba meta skills like lightning arrow & lightning spear ....don't get me wrong but you can't understand what I talk here about if you haven't played other classes and this with non meta skills. When you talk about MS it's not only how fast you can run. It's also how fast you can clear whole screen. I will give you an example to understand. Let's say we take one spear guy playing with 35% MS boots and runs through enemies and lets say we take one crossbow guy using boots with 55% MS. The first although slower in MS, clears the the whole screen with 1 click. The second guy from the other hand although running like flash hero, needs 5 click to clear the whole screen.
Which from the two of them can reach faster and with 0% possibility of death in the end of map??? So the f...ing balance about weapons and classes is priority and then we talk about how fast should Devs regulate MS to differ from the old Poe1. Last edited by teobibu#1278 on Jul 20, 2025, 9:34:59 AM

" I think you completely misunderstood the thread....I don't talk about the movement speed in general to go faster from A to B. I talk about the action speed and movement animation....means if you press skill XY how the skill feels animation vise. But maybe it's my fault and I didn't communicate it well enough. This thread has primary nothing to do with clear speed or how fast a character runs (as already said we don't want zoom zoom in POE2 as stated in my 2nd sentence)....it's about the action speed and how good a skill feels if you press the skill button XY and the character executes this skill.
