A possible Assassin idea
With all the reworks with a few of the ascendancy classes, I got an idea while I was playing with rigwalds crest. I thought it would be cool if the assassin had ghostly minions like shadow dogs that scaled to late game. But, they would be unique in that the shadow dog minions do unique thing. The dogs gain bonuses based off the other branches you take.
Crit Branch/damage branch would make it so the dogs would be holding a melee weapon the assassin was holding, and attack with the knife. I figured since you have models holding weapons as well as the wolfboss in poe2. Maybe the wolves use certain bonuses or aspect of the melee weapon the assassin is using. The toxicity branch would make the dogs poison, or inflict withers on creatures poisoned. I am not good at building poison characters, so just trying to have the wolves be like poison/chaos minions. Although, I think the more wolves attacking a creature, the faster the poison happens. The deadly infusion, for the spellcaster wolves, will have the wolves do bonus damage based on power charge of assassin. Or maybe give the assassin gains bonus spell damage based off number of wolves during power charges. Kind of like a different version of The Black Cane. Lastly, the Mistwalkers, the wolves will be like a buffer. The more wolves the assassin has, the more damage they buffer. It would be like the wolves would leap in front of attack (thematically) to take the hit. Unsure how to really treat the absorption of damage, but I think the idea is cool.
