Betrayal in 3.26

I want to share my thoughts of the new betrayal system in 3.26. I really enjoyed it the past few leagues and farmed it a lot. Here some of my thoughts: 1. The Medallion: In my Opinion it’s a good idea to Itemise the Catarina Fight. The drop rate is unfortunately way too low. I don’t want to pay 5 Div for one fight. 2. Catarina Fight loot: Right now, is the big prize the new/old veiled exalted orb. 20 Div is nice. But the price is so high because of the low drop rate. The rest of the loot I have seen so far is not worth mentioning. Also, i miss the huge Catacombs with loot from all the syndicate members. 3. Early maps: One nice thing in betrayal was that you could start farm Catarina in white Maps. The chance for good loot was not as good as in red tier maps, but u had a little chance. Now I have to get to red maps before even thinking about Catarina. 4. Syndicate progression: The new progression is veeery slow. Its makes barely no fun at all. 5. Missing reset: There should be an option to manually reset the board. I am at a status where everyone trusts everyone… In a Nutshell: Pls make the Catarina fight more accessible even for white Maps and adjust the drop rate for the medallion and the veiled exalted orb. Just revert the whole betrayal change the new crafting bench rewards are mostly pointless.

" You can now make everyone betray everyone. You first have to make them allies before you can make them into enemies. And regardless of friend or foe, this is something you should be aiming for anyway, isn't it? Allies/enemies have a greater chance of spawning than neutrals. Also, if enemies, syndicate members will often offer to raise relations back to neutral with someone so you can better refine your connections. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley |

The leaders should drop Syndicate Splinters based on their rank, which turn into Syndicate Medallion in a way similar to The Maven's Writ. This way we can progress like before and choose when to fight like now.
And the rewards are awful indeed. I gave up Betrayal all together, not worth it. |

I used to do Betrayal because it was fun and you could kill Caterina early game. Now it is not fun. Why bother when you don't get the craft bench rewards or credit to get to Caterina. You used to be able to work your way up to Caterina, so you had a chance that was tangible. I haven't even gotten to Caterina yet. Betrayal has turned into low reward and more random chance. I don't like gambling, so many things in this game are gambling based (i.e. crafting), maybe you get lucky....I'm not lucky, I'd rather work towards something. Now Betrayal is like gambling: luck based, where more likely than not, you will be unlucky. Random chance sucks and is NOT fun. The changes have made Betrayal very unenjoyable. I don't even like to do it now.

I used to do a lot of betrayal, with the betrayal exclusive crafts it usually was a steady stream of income and i just collected everything. But with making the crafts available easily, like 99% of the veiled drops became irrelevant.
Im not arguing to change the craft-system back, but the system is currently missing an equivalent type of reward. Having just a chance to get a medallion or get nothing feels really punishing. i got my first one after like 15 safehouses on level 83. 2 people usually want to betray each other in a way that doesnt give much/any progres stowards the safehouse. Maybe some new special interactions between 2 betrayal agents would make sense. Because right now im usually just doing "interrogate" like 90% of the time. I like the new crafting benches, as it lets me (someone that is not very experienced with crafting) just play around and test out currencies i wouldnt use otherwise. |

Worst: Catarina fight second phase is ugly and lags very bad.
Also bad: The focus on crafting benches. Before Guff was a "kick him out" member. Now we got more of this IMO bad mechanic. New crafting benches are not equal though. Some much worse than others. And missing obvious QoL like the chance-scour one which needs the crafting bench treatment of combining the two into one. No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!
