It's one of the best auras for its cost. It gives 1500 or more base evasion. That's thousands of evasion (or armor with iron reflexes) after modifiers. All for a fairly low mana reservasion.

it puts me to 17% evade

Against what?

Each monster has it's own accuracy rating. If you are high level then the evasion (or accuracy) % on your character sheet is far from accurate.

i press C, go to Defense tab, and it says Chance to Evade is 17%, 6% without Grace

Monster accuracy is directly linked to monster level. All monsters of the same level have the same accuracy. The only exception is magic and rare monsters with Accuracy Aura or Addition Accuracy affixes.

The character sheet estimate is actually very accurate.

I know evasion of monsters can vary yet the accuracy estimation is similar to the evasion one, why do you think all monster (without the mods) of same level have the same accuracy? I think it is not true.

Ah, apologies. I misread something Mark_GGG said which led me to believe this.

The original quote is:
"
[...]Monster damage ranges vary much more than accuracy.
Monsters aren't balanced based on damage dealt, they're based on DPS. Once we have the DPS that monster needs, we can work out the damage it should do per hit based on how quickly it attacks, which can vary wildly between different monsters for all kinds of reasons- from what looks good with the art to how we decide to separate different monster types. As such, for monsters of a given level, their damage ranges per hit will likely be significantly more varied than their accuracy.[...]

So their accuracy does vary, just not as much.
Brutus. Do you even sync?

If it takes you from the minimum 5% to 17% then that means you are taking 12% less damage for very little mana cost. Seems pretty good to me.

More than that. Not only do you remove 12% additional hits, but of the ones that do hit, there will be quite a lot fewer crits!
I've been leveling both grace and determination and if you have the passive node that converts evasion to armor, so far grace is better.
Grace is absolutely amazing, especially with Iron Reflexes.
