Elemental Army Support and Exposure icon on monsters/boses
I am running Elemental Army Support gem for my support spectres, but not seeing any Exposure icons indicating it has been applied. Should it show it?
If i, as player, apply exposure, it shows icon under neath bog health bars, but from this gem i have not seen it. Just as note - yes my minions have elemental damage, both added and converted. Could this be bug or those icons not showing if its applied by minions? EDIT: ![]() I'am trying to see something like this. In this case its source is from exposure gloves (implict). Sorry about low quality of picture, done from video recording. Last edited by AshenLuck#6206 on Jul 3, 2025, 8:08:40 AM Last bumped on Jul 4, 2025, 3:47:51 AM

I didn't think it showed exposure on these icons. I thought it shows two things. The value of non-damaging status ailments, at the bottom middle, and the resistances being either positive or negative, on the right and left. Exposure does contribute to the values of these resistances, but I'm not sure that it is specifically showing exposure. I may be wrong about this.
I think this has been a good implementation having these, but I think it can be further improved. I would like to be able to see the the exact number of the resistances on the bar, so it is easy to know if things like this are being applied. |

" ![]() So what about this icon? As far as i understand it shows exposure. In this case its source is from exposure gloves (implict). Sorry about low quality of picture, done from video recording. Last edited by AshenLuck#6206 on Jul 3, 2025, 8:06:58 AM

" The debuffs that display under the health bar are non-damaging ailments that vary in effect. Not Bleed, Ignite, or Poison (damaging), or Freeze (varies in duration, not effect). Chill, Shock, Scorch, Brittle, Sapped will show below the health bar. That icon in particular is Scorch. It lowers their elemental resists. |

" Oooh ok, thanks for explaining. My bad! That explains a lot. Thanks. Basically there are no icon for exposure. |

Yeah that one is scorched. It does look a bit like something they would have for exposure and you might not of seen it before, because scorched is not one of the common ailments. If it is not directly from your build, most likely it is coming from items you equipped on your Merc.
If you look to the left and right of those status ailment icons, you will see some other icons. Those are the ones that relate to the enemies resistances. I think how it works is, if they have positive resistance, the icon is on the right side and if it is negative resist, it is on the left side. The thing is those take multiple factors into account. Such as the enemies base resistances, which vary across different mobs/bosses. Then all the other factors that can alter their resistance, of which exposure should impact it. Say a mob has 15 fire res. The Fire res icon should be on the right. If you apply negative 15 fire res to the enemy, the icon should disappear, when the enemy has 0 fire res. If you apply more than this, the enemy will have negative fire resist and the icon will move to the left. I'm not sure if everything is taken into account on this icon, but I think it is everything that relates to lowering or raising resistances. Scorched should be taken into account as well, since it does this, even though it has it's own status ailment icon. Thing like increased damage taken, ignore enemy resistance, etc., would not be into account, since it is not changing the resistance. I think it would be an improvement if they showed the actual resistance numbers, instead of the icons, but likely they are trying to keep the window as clear visibly as possible and think that might be too much information. Looking at your skill links, I would assume that your spectre's highest elemental damage is going to be lightning damage, so it should apply lightning exposure. This may not always be true, depending on the spectre and any buff, as well as enemy mods. Likely it is applying -10 lightning res. You might be able to see it sometimes move the lightning res icon from the right to the left. Since is only a change of 10, for most mobs that have less than 0 and more than 10 lightning res otherwise, you would not see it change. It can be getting applied though, and the icon display just doesn't represent it. If you really want to test it, there is probably a mob type somewhere in the campaign that it would be visible on, if the specters are not one-shoting the mob. " Thank you for extensive replay! In short - all i wanted was to be sure that it works at all, just so i know if that support gem is worth it for me or i want to put something else in it. For some reason i assumed there will be actual icon indicating it, but that misunderstanding came from me thinking Scorched icon is exposure... Anyway, - i do know about barely visible mini icons of resistances that go from various indistinguishable greyish/yelowish colors to redish and so on... Problem for my csae aws/is iam abusing doryanies on my merc, but i currently have cheap version with only -170 ress, so i decided to add extra -10 with Elemental Army support on my support spectres. So in case of those icons ... Lightning one stays the same color, since i assume -10 extra doesnt change enaugh. I was just hoping for more clear way to see it... but oh well. It is what it is. :) Thanks for write up, you cleared a lot of confusion for me and maybe we will get actual exposure icons in future, hehe. |
