How to spot a noob.
Expedition is busted OP, as long as you understand the mechanic.

At the very start of a league, Rog gives crapton of busted items, i made several divines just from Rog craft in the first 2 days, when demand is high for even mediocre gear.

Tujen gives you a lot of bubblegum currency, that is enough to push through the entire atlas progress, again, first weekend.

Dannig gives extra logbooks which are the main source of reroll currency and artifacts.

Gwennen is useless eversince she got obliterated with unique chance.

The best part of expedition is that just with atlas tree, you can guarantee expedition on every map, get the big boom for point and click playstyle and gives a ton of monsters for you, while literally costing you nothing.

If your build is strong enough later on, you can juice it with scarabs for insane income, but that requires very specific builds due to the large number of mods that will brick builds.


Kingsmarch is not even remotely close to it, not at the base value, because ores are rare, farmers are slow and thats about it.
Running 20 maps with kalgur scarabs and harvest, you can make more shipment value than what you get in 1 week of farm with fully maxed farmers, but that is not something you can do in first few days ...

OP is clueless, Expedition is OP at league start cause it need 0 currency investment unlike other mechanics.

For those comparing Kingsmarch favorably to Expedition.....you realize BOTH can be done simultaneously right? You aren't choosing between the two.

Gambling Faustus is most certainly NOT better than being in mild control via Rog.

Bubblegum currency is most certainly NOT less valuable because the currency exchange exists. Chaos orbs are still chaos orbs lol.

OP seems to not understand how to maximize expedition for what he needs, nor does he understand what raw dropped items might hold value from the mechanic. Nor does he appear to care to hear the answer. All he wants is confirmation that expedition is the "objectively worst league mechanic".

Problem Two: zero understanding of value

This entire thread starts out from a lose-lose scenario: a player who has made such a strong opinion that he thinks its "objective", and the same player with a total inability or unwillingness to hear contrary thoughts and data.


I will continue to spec Expedition almost every league start, and continue to build multiple characters with it. OP will not, no matter what anyone says to him.

And there is ZERO objectivity here.

Comparing Expedition to shipments makes no sense. One is an in map league mechanic where you kill monsters, the other is a bonus passiv income for all the gold you accumulate doing maps. YOu can simply do both. If anything, you have to compare expedition to stuff like legion where expedition is probably more reliable for early crurency and items and legion might be stronger on the top end when you have the aoe to farm some jewels or whatever...

I think its a fun mechanic. Not the most profitable and also not my preferred mechanic to farm- unless trying to find a fishing rod.

But Gwennen has been in a cage in my hideout for 3 leagues now for the crime of uselessness.
