Mercs need improvement badly

I don't know whos idea it was to make mercs not get exp & level up but this is a bad idea. I don't want to have to keep trying to find the same merc with the same skillset at a higher level. Just because you have a marc doesn't mean monsters should get a 25% hp armor & damage increase without magic find. Also the mercenaries health bar should STAND OUT FROM THE REST OF THE MINIONS. Kinda irritating to try to find ur merc in the middle of your minions bashing a mob to go damn his healths low.

Also can we get some of these unobtainable skill &support gems these mercs got because wtf why do they get stuff we don't have like summon emperor voll & fallen bishop.

there is a skill to recall mercenaries and heal them.

personaly what i wish for is more information like what is their health/defence multiplier or whats the base of the skills. All i know is it has determination... great wich lv? i dont think its even the same determination than players get.

I am aware of that button I do not want to have to keep spamming it because I can't see my merc over my 30 minions running around & have to judge if his hp is low or is that just a srs or skeleton on infernal legion.

They should level up 100%, it makes me not want to gear them at all during the campaign and sucks a lot of potential fun out of the league. They should also just respawn after a timer similar to they way poe2 minions do. This whole gone for the whole area/map after crumpling to any mob, and having to go to town/hideout to get them back is very silly. I'm always a little dumbfounded that they get something right in one game and implement it terribly the next time.
Where is their damage indicator? Am I missing something?

Oh my god, after playing PoE2 minions I am hating life in PoE1 with dying minions and mercs. Please add auto-res to mercs, or if they die in a zone/map just make them come back for free in the next area automatically. This should be fun but it's an obnoxious gold sink and micromanagement hell instead.
Absolutely agree that they should gain experience and level up.
Also there is a lot of information missing about what level of stones are used, what damage they have, how it is scaled, what is frequency of use.
And also we really need a button “don't use this skill ever again” as often the AI spams the most useless skill without any sense and almost never use the right one.

Definitely agree, or we need a better way to target the Merc we do want to hire. I'm running with a lvl 70 kineticist because I cannot for the life of me even find another one, let alone a higher level one with adequate skills. I've also been looking for an erupter, the last one I saw was back at lvl 50. It's far too random and should be looked at. Being able to exile more than 3 archetypes would prob solve this.
please put a better description including numbers and effects of what mercenary skills do. Having to go to some third party site just to get an idea of what a skill does or how it interacts is a terrible design.

The main (top left one) has some very slight differences...
Do party members get a different one ? (Both top left and over character.) (They probably should.)

Balance issues. Making them available to players, means you don't get them to do crazy shit, because players can abuse them in so more many ways...

Rushing the campaign is your own choice.
You can just spread the intervals when you hire them depending on your speed.
Also don't they heal up automatically after a while (if not dead), or was that idea scrapped in favour of the recall button ?
