Recombinator was one of my favorite things about Settlers league and I was really looking forward to it. The only thing I've done with it this league is create a 3 mod base for a metacraft. I really needed that influenced mod.

I tried the rogue exile + spirits farming strat and its still a miserable slog.

Just don't engage with it. GGG gets those numbers and cursed content is worse than no content. Or in other words having new/casual players google something and every response is "its crap don't use it" looks terrible for them.

got around 2k recombinator and never used them so i probably lost couple of mirrors from legacy sentinel mods on rings and boots.

Well yeah, obviously it’s a 1% chance when you're trying to slap together two super low-weight mods. The whole point is to stop it from being used as a full-blown item editor.
It’s not meant to be some freestyle crafting playground where you build perfect endgame gear in 3 clicks — that’s exactly why they kept the older method to allow for some crazier crafts, but sure, it requires a bit more thinking and knowledge and setting things up, and it isn’t just a brain-off “select 2 or 3 desired mods and slap them together with 100% success” kind of system.

Calling it p2w because of dust feels like a stretch, honestly. Dust isn’t even remotely scarce unless you’re burning through it wildly inefficiently. The game basically showers you with materials if you’re even slightly engaged. Complaining about the price of dust while ignoring how easy it is to get sounds more like a you problem than a system flaw.

It’s kind of like Lost Ark, yeah, except even there, the 1% chances are a joke once you realize how many shots you get from the absurd material drip-feed. In both cases, it’s more about playing smart than paying or praying. If the system isn’t working for you, it might not be the system.

3.25 recombinator was definitely OP and needed a nerf, but in 3.26 it is practically unusable. I've been trying to get a 3p/2s necrotic armour for a while now--must have ran at least 120+ bases. I cannot get to 2p/2s ever. As of right now, I give up on recombo. It is absolute dog doodoo. Maybe other people have better RNG, but with how many attempts I have wasted on it, it isn't even fun. It felt like I had an obligation to do at work.

The cost seems inline with the power. No issue. If you wanna make sweet gear, you gotta spend sweet currency.


I recombed these, took quite a few tries.




If it helps, this is the method I used. (cant promise it is optimal)


Item A) Incursion gloves with 2 open suffix or 1 open suffix and a 2nd T1 resist.

Item B) desired base gloves, scour and alternation rolled for T1 resist (that matches the T1 resist on Item A, if present.


Unpredictable mode, A+B, until = desired base with Incursion mod + T1 resist
----

bench craft Suffix cannot be changed, harvest craft Reforge Chaos, until = T1 Chaos.

if fail, attempt annual, if fail annual, start over.

Once you have all 3 suffix locked, start prefix.

bench craft/beast craft Suffix cannot be changed, harvest craft reforge life, until =T1 life.

If fail, repeat. Eldritch annual prefix if filled.

Once you have T1 life, bench craft an undesired high weight mod, exalt slam.

Can annual/repeat prefix reforge if not happy with the slam, or just finish with bench craft final prefix.
