From Hype to Disappointment: How Patch 0.2.1 Ruined the Chase
I get what OP says just beacuse 0.2.1 dropped in the middle of the league and not at the start.
But i think the chase now (for me it has always been) will focus on better and better (up to mirror tier) items for our builds. There is always room for progression, and if you already are there, u can start a new char or wait for the next league. Remember about the reset too, its not a MMORPG. I know what it takes to farm 700/800 legit divines. Last month and half i purely played in T5 simulacrum and farmed almost double that amount there with just standard loot. Not a single time i ever got a mythic unique even if im running one of the hardest challenges in the game. I play lot of hours every day too but I simply wasnt that lucky to get a rite of passage or a kalandra's touch. Those items are surely very good but im ok with them being more accessible. They dont need any craft to be perfect and honestly 3/4 mirrors for a charm? Lets leave these prices for real top tier crafted items. And like 0.2.1 announcement said: "when things are that rare they effectively don’t exist for most players. There are some cool items to find, but you are not going to find them." What’s the point of grinding for divines and buying expensive gear when that gear becomes worthless a few days later? Id answer that the point will now be to buy godlike crafted gear which will keep/augment their price over time (if u like investment), or aim to a perfect build (if u dont play economy). Until a new patch will shake things up again ofc. |

" OP found something that was extremely rare and valuable. That feels good. The dopamine response our brain gives us when something rare and valuable drops is a huge aspect that makes these types of games fun for a lot of people. Suddenly, the rare and valuable item he found becomes significantly less rare and valuable. That feels bad. Now, he's displeased and decided to share his thoughts with others. It has nothing to do with not wanting other people to have fun, too. Taking pride in something he found and potentially gloating about it to friends doesn't mean that he's trying to inhibit others from having fun or also grinding to find something rare and valuable. |

you had uniques. they said they're making uniques cheaper. You didn't sell your uniques for divines pre-patch. Your mistake.

" I never accused you of RMT. There is an OR there. I think it's ridiculous for any one person to not be able to get build defining items that have no target farm. Go get a temporalis without paying for it if you are so set on getting an item people don't have or want to grid for something rare. There are plenty of other things to do in the game. All I was saying is that there is no good reason to have an item sitting in your stash other than collecting/RMT/eliestism. That's really it. If you aren't using the item yourself and are made about the value it's probably either RMT/Elitism. You need to accept that this will happen over and over and over. Video games nerf and buff things all the time. It's digital. It has no value. |

Games without a good trading system will not last long. You don't even need to think of yourself as a saint against RMT; it's just a joke! Otherwise, GGG wouldn't have gone to Tencent to learn...
This is a treasure-hunting game, and the absence of valuable items to pursue is fundamentally flawed! Players who play for love will eventually get tired of it! |

Let's set aside the debate about RMT for now and examine how much players can actually trade after this update. Or perhaps, how much do players even need to trade? Previously, players could exchange certain items for in-game currency, but now there's no demand for these items, leading to a shortage of tradable currency. Is everyone just supposed to rely on defeating monsters for everything? That's absurd!
The absence of desirable items effectively dismantles the in-game trading system. Over time, how many players will continue "farming" for loot if the items they obtain hold no value to others? So, let's not bring up RMT. Constantly claiming that this is beneficial in the long run and that players will keep playing through seasonal rotations without getting tired or bored is simply unrealistic? |

Take "Kalandra's Touch" as an example, when players pursue it, they accumulate through looting or obtain it by sheer luck, and upon finally acquiring it, they feel a sense of achievement. In contrast, now it has depreciated from 600div to 50div, ignored by everyone, and will only get cheaper over time. Is this interesting? How many people are still accumulating and looting for this item? An item that once had value in pursuit and trade, what has it become now? Is this related to RMT?
When an item becomes cheap and lacks trade value, how many players driven by passion will repeatedly clear maps and challenge bosses? |

This is a multiplayer online "loot" game. If the loot has no value, the game loses its value too. Whether in the short or long term, that's not a good thing.
Imagine spending hours to get powerful loot, but no one wants it. Would you still find it fun? It's a dead end. So don't bring up RMT. Every game has RMT these days. We're all adults. If you don't need RMT, you should play single-player games instead! |
