Sekhemas- talk to zarka-

Lvling a new hopefully deadeye build.

killed balbala as usually on the way to halani gates.
got the djinn barya.

quest now says "return to ardura caravan and speak to zarka"

zarka doesn't have anything to say to me about the quest.

I can't travel to trial of sekhemas on the map or by joining party member's location.

I tried killing balbala again. no change.

I tried dropping/deleting the quest item barya and killed balbala again.

she did not drop a new one.

Now i'm lvl 31 and need to start over erno?

I really dont want to start a new character.

In 0.2.0 they added a step to complete opening the Halani Gates before you are able to talk to Zarka about the Trial of the Sekhemas.

They did add a quest note about it. If this is being overwritten by 'Talk to Zarka' or you are told to do this in chat before this additional step is complete, that would be an issue. I was told to Assist Asala in Opening the Gates.

Don't discard your Balbala's Barya quest item. She usually won't drop it again and players seem to have gotten locked out of the quest line and the Trial for doing this. That also needs to be addressed.




Asides:
While seemingly not applicable to you, the same Ascent to Power quest appears in Act 5 Cruel with the same prompts, but you can't and don't need to do anything for it in Act 5. It will remain open but not affect your progress.

Djinn Baryas are similar to the quest item, but will drop at higher item levels and only allow one attempt at the Trial per barya. They will not permit completing the initial quest line to access the Trial area and may interfere with that process if you were to defer fighting Balbala until after you had dropped one, later in the game (I'm not suggesting this is what happened to you).
