Don’t Mix My Support.
I believe that the supporter packs for Path of Exile (PoE) and Path of Exile 2 (PoE2) should be clearly separated in name and intent. As a long-time player, I feel that PoE2 is, quite frankly, a mess. It brings me no joy.
When I feel happiness, excitement, or passion from playing PoE—GOAT—I'm moved to show some modest support to the developers. But every time I consider purchasing a supporter pack and realize that 99% of that money might be going toward the development of PoE2 instead, I feel extremely uncomfortable. That thought creates a strong sense of resistance in me. My support comes from a place of genuine appreciation for PoE, not for PoE2. I just want that distinction to be respected. Your money is paid to Tencent in the form of a dividend.

Not really how it works, OP. You don't pay to support the future, you pay to show appreciation for what's already come out.
If you want your wallet-vote to reflect a dissatisfaction with the current direction of the studio, stop buying supporter packs. It's that simple. I wouldn't worry about GGG missing the message, though. It's pretty obvious that packs sold the first week of a PoE1 league reflect support for PoE1, and vice versa. |
