Another Feedback time

I am not sure I can stay super constructive, but I am trying not to hate everything.

So the game still feels boring to me and convoluted with meaningless or obscure mechanics that don't feel like they grew on the same tree.
As a poe1 play I know where those fruits came from, but they don't mix well in poe2.

So, what does feel better is that I am dropping a lot more Uniques in endgame without a lot of magic find. Most Maps are more engaging because there are more rares. Open are maps feel way better - still my critique with close quarter maps.
Breach feels great, Delirium pretty nice as well.
Expedition desperately needs a rework. Putting down the charges just isn't that much fun. I can see a multiple choice window you can open at the NPC. Like the wow talent tree where you had 1/3 choice in each row and like 5 rows to pick. Then you just have to make one option bland reward and the other 2 with risk/reward. This would speed it up a little and not clutter the screen with nameplates that let you die in AoE effects.

Performance overall is bad. You can quickly push the graphics settings to its limits by just playing a build that stacks a lot of skill effects on monsters.

Monsters display the wrong modifiers. You can easily see if a monster has a energy shield or some form of immunity or shielding effect - which is nice. but what would be more interesting is if you could see the offensive mods and not the defensive ones. The offensive mods you can only see when they happen. Like frost explosions and whatnot. But these are the ones that should be displayed on the monster. The defensive mods are just bullet sponge effects that no build cares about really.

Itemization is bad. like still. There are too many base items, too many tiers, to many currencies to use on items and rolls are bad, drops are bad.
So in theory, why do you need this many base items when you also have ilvl limiting the rolls - its just flavor and nuisance in endgame
Why do you need more than 5 tiers on any roll. The tiers itself have variance to them, and with 5 you could fit a lot of progression in them and balance leveling a bit better.
Magic find should be banned from the game, it punishes the wrong players
Movement speed should not be on the boots it should be on the skill tree.
The passive tree is still boring, way too much of the same stuff with too little impact and variance. too many lightning nodes for example and it feels like single points have almost no impact on the builds performance.
Astramentis should be baseline for every character. Stat points are so horribly annoying. There are way too little, they ruin your build constantly, they limit the skill levels you can use. They are an absolute nightmare to work with.

There are too many mechanics and systems already implemented in the game that are superendgame polish options. I get it why this happened - you wanted the core audience to stay with the game very long. But now you have a bad crafting system because there are no alterations and no crafting bench. But you can put cold damage quality on a ring or something like that. My gear is bad - apart from the items I bought in trade. But running maps just does not yield me good enough gear, I can't craft it because I brick base items, and I can't use a bench to salvage somewhat decent items. But I can use runes in 3 tiers that had to be invented to sell another stash tab. I am sorry, this is a cash grab. Don't pull dodgy stuff like this. They could easily have fitted in a fragment tab or the essence tab.

Maps are boring because I can't pick the type of map I am playing. I am constantly surprised what kind of map opens up for me. I have no clue why I can't figure out the names with the type of biome. Naming is bad.
Sometimes there is a map with 4 rares in it, and in some there are like 20. And I have no clue why.
Seeing the rares on the minimap helps a lot because otherwise the game would be boring af, but seeing them is a bandaid. It's not good game design. I would rather have less punishing rares and better designed maps (and generative algorithms) than seeing them on the minimap and trying to offscreen them. You set out to make this game very immersive - and then you end up walking everything back to poe1 and even more. Which is for the most part a good choice, because meaningful battle in an arpg is just a cursed game design problem - it cannot be achieved outside of boss fights.

To many status effects and bells and whistles. I think overall things are improving because there have been nerfs to how you can counter stuns and freezes and the like, but there is just a lot of stuff in the game and very very little ways to counter them. Which you sort of have to because you might roll maps that require you to have a counter to something very specific. Burning/Frozen/Shocked ground for example can be very annoying, especially when enemies put more AoE on top of it. It's just hard to identify a lot of things soon enough and then you realize that your build is lacking a counter to pretty much everything - but on the upside you can do nothing about it because you can't find gear that helps and you can't use passive points because you need the intelligence to use something else.

Oh and skills and stuff are unbalanced as well.
Trials are no fun and buggy. Elevators are still bad, monsters spawn in walls. It's just a lot of jank going on and game design choices that I see going nowhere, except getting scratched in a couple of months when someone finally realizes that a boss arena should not have stairs in it and that elevators aren't adding a lot to the arpg experience. Neither are trees, boulders and narrow paths or slightly elevated areas that give you a weird line of sight. Isometric works sort of best on one plane. everything else is a bit jank. Poe1 did it way better because it didn't have those steep elevations. It had like 2 planes that where relatively close to each other.

Okay enough rant, I am just taking another poe2 break until you make the game more like poe1. The small changes you have made over the last 6 months are changes I would have loved to have seen in January. It's the right direction, but at this pace...

Most of what you said seems pretty accurate in general. Good job not 'goin off the handle' :D
GGG - Why you no?
