Now it's all about cheating by multi-boxing
Is GGG just turning a blind eye to this? Are they sleepwalking?

Yea, i have seen this multiple times now when going to a hideout to make a trade, didnt even know this was a thing until recently (in poe, that is...), but, i agree, not sure how us players can be seeing this left and center, and GGG seems to do not one fucking thing about it.
To be completely fair though, i'm not even sure if its a rule breaker, but i would assume it is. Companies have had varying reactions to the mb thing, so, guess it's up to GGG to make that call. GGG - Why you no? Last edited by JoannaDark#6252 on May 23, 2025, 9:52:32 AM

In the past GGG were very very aggressive with cheaters and would ban them vigilantly.
Nowadays they are owned by Tencent and Chris is no longer there. They're also developping a game that currently have many problems and they don't have the ressources to deal with cheaters. Some people are opening tickets and getting replies months later for in game problems. So yeah, I wouldn't bet big on them addressing this issue. |

What is multi-boxing? I tried googling but didn't really get any info that seemed reliable.

" Seriously, I would have assumed it would only be possible to be logged into your account in a single instance. Unless they went so far as to get multiple copies of the game which would probably require a jumping through more loopholes. Peoples' dedication to gaining an advantage never ceases to amaze me. |

" Not really hoops. Create another free acccount, buy another key, and away you go. Old as days, and many of us have prolly done it here or there in other games (maybe this one?), etc... At one time, many years ago in my Wow days... i remember getting ganked by a mage, who was actually a full 6 mages in a horde tower, AV. LOL, ahhh, the good ole days. Blizz wasnt much against it officially then, not sure about now, but yea. It's all easy enough to do. I just assumed it was a no no these days. Maybe not in POE? If anyone has actual official linkable info's, feel free to post here. I am curious now. PS: That includes you Moderators who obviously scour over much in these forums. Official stance would be a great to thing to have out in the bold. GGG - Why you no? Last edited by JoannaDark#6252 on May 23, 2025, 4:27:09 PM

I was under the impression that in order to be logged into steam on two accounts at once, you needed to incorporate virtualization software. Steam won't let you be logged into two accounts simultaneously.

" Having 2 account can be very useful, you can have a char in hardcore and the other in softcore for trading purpose. Of course you need to have 2 separate accounts. You can also control both account from 2 clients, as long as you don'T use macros or that your keyboard/mouse dosen't give instructions to both of the game at the same time. Per example, I have bought a second account for this game when 0.1 existed to have a toon joining my Simulacrum run. It dosen't do anything, it just stand there. I did that to get more experience and loot drop but honestly it didnt work the way I expected it to. Nowadays anyways you can't even get experience for simulacrum. I asked GGG before to make sure this was legal because I saw people saying it was. Honestly, unless you want to make it easier to do trades in hardcore and standard, then it's absolutely pointless. I haven't logged in my second account for like over 2 months and it's gonna rot until I start playing Hardcore again. Last edited by Oinkaments#6390 on May 23, 2025, 4:31:59 PM

" You can have a client from steam, and for the second account you can download the standalone version. This is 100% legal. |
