The recent currency drop buff was a mistake...
" Loot/experience shouldnt rely on tower juicing. I hate this with a passion. But even if you do juice them, there's literally no good unique items to look for, it's all about rare gear and pure gambling. But it's currently the core way to progress and I have the feeling they will fully commit on it even though a lot of players don't like it. It overall feels very unsatisfying. I hard disagree with OP that buffing the drop was a mistake. The economy gets wrecked after a few weeks/month no matter what because there's no decent way to sink exalts/divine, which is the real issue. The game feels a little better actually now that they improved the drops but it's still so far from being ideal. Last edited by Oinkaments#6390 on May 23, 2025, 3:57:38 PM

" Not to mention, but POE franchise, one does not really ever 'look' for any uniques, as this is the one area of their beloved inspirational D2, where D2 did it right, and GGG didnt. Instead they chose to just leave rng is rng to all drops across the board. Never was a fan of this. Always loved being able to go "oh, i need a SoJ? Mk Andy, here I come...". Then it was just a case of Soon *TM GGG - Why you no? Last edited by JoannaDark#6252 on May 23, 2025, 4:03:38 PM

" That's how I got baited in playing POE 2 with epic items like Ingenuity Belt etc. We had some nice ones and I tought they would go in that direction. It now completely feels like a bait and switch. Everything was signaling they would make some great version of D2 but better. The +Skill damage scaling from gems certainly gave me that illusion. Then guess what, anything remotely great got bricked and the +Skill scaling got violently nerfed. |

Literally bs. Ex to Divine ratio surged because it's the end of league and there is limited usage of Ex in late game other than adding mod to map. Ex is always an early and mid game currency but not for late game.
Chaos orb is consumed a lot in crafting so the market shifted from exalted orb to chaos orb and that's the main reason. C to D is currently 20:1 and that's not much difference pre loot buff. |

" Don't want to defend GGG but if they make it target farmable, there is always someone say "I don't want to be forced to farm this boss for a SOJ blahblahblah". You can't satisfy everyone. |

" That's a fact right there. lol. It is what it is. GGG - Why you no?

I don't know, I quite like the fact that when I get lucky during the campaign and get a Divine Orb, I can get 350 Exalted Orbs out of it and be set for slamming for the rest of my campaign run without needing to bother with the trash trade system.

No one mentions that the a big part of the problem is people have turned gaming into a career. 1000's of players use these games to make a living and spend every waking hour figuring out how to maximize their revenue.
Just like in real life, those that have the most currency control the market. |

Not really sure why anyone would think that Exalts should be the main trading currency anyway. They have a much higher drop rate, as they should have since they would be used for Gear and Map mod additions.
Chaos is ideal trading medium. Rare and useful enough to maintain value versus Divines, but somewhat common enough to be used as a stable trading medium. If you are concerned about the trading market. No one is ever priced out of the market. Most people just don't bother looking at what has value. I jumped on yesterday and noticed the Ex:Div ratio was much higher than when i played on the first week of release. I wanted a couple div to buy a few items, so i looked at the Currency Exchange and saw that just about everything relative to Exalts went up. Ok, so the 15 chaos i still had on me was almost a div, Annulents, Runes et.. All were worth significantly more than before, relative to exalts. Noticing Arbiter fragments were worth ~1.75 divs each i just rushed maps to citadels and ran them with no mods to guarantee a completion (my build was in a bad state when i last played). I hit a Citadel and when i ran out of visible ones, i rushed into the fog in areas where there is no Red Fog (new Corrupted Nexus visibility i guess). Hit towers along the way, and more citadels appear. Rinse and repeat for easy currency. About 10-15 maps per citadel found, at under 2mins per map (rushing rares) and you're easily getting 4-5divs per hour to build up your character to do it faster, or move onto something else. |
