Controller targetting not targetting enemies

Ive noticed while playing on controller that ALOT of times bow attacks just miss because the enemy is to close to the player character and arrows just fly past/above enemies, the targetting on controller desperately needs an update, the targetting on poe2 for ranged weapons is great, especially with the choice of setting a skill to target always the closest enemy for example.
