The issues I encountered during early access.

1.Map design and visibility issues
Games like poe or diablo tend to have poor visibility when skill effects start to fly around.Other games all try to make the map as easy as possible so it won’t be a problem to navigate through the map even with poor visibility.

But in poe2 there are just too many obstacles in the map.Some of them are so small.For example you won’t see what’s blocking your way when you’re standing before those tiny jars.Some of them got similar color tone with surrounding area.Like that invisible obstacle in the middle of trial of chaos map.Some of them are just against common knowledge.A lot of times when you see a gentle slope or a passage wide enough,you think you can pass through but it will actually block you.There are also a lot of times your character can squeeze into some tiny places.Objects with similar heights,some will block you,some won’t.There are no pattern to it.Like that cave map full of mushrooms,you can actually walk on some of the mushrooms.(Also when you standing on those mushrooms,it will actually prevent you from seeing that deadly aoe circle on the ground.)Plus there are so many details on the ground and the map design are so sophisticated.A lot of times it’s really hard to tell which one is the path you can walk on which one is the obstacle that will block you.There are so many times my character suddenly got block by something during the battle then got completely surrounded and killed.

This game got really bad visibility.There are so many details on the ground,and there are corpses,all kinds of toxic ground and fogs.When battle starts you got 15+ enemies swarming at you,and all kinds of skill effects flying around.On top of that a lot of the skill got distortion effect,make the already terrible visibility even worse.And please add an option to magnify all letters in the game.Because some of them are just too small.

Then we got the boss fight with the worst visibility ever.The king in the mist end game boss fight.First of all the boss himself and his skill got similar color tone with the background.During phase 2 he will launch a swarm that follows you,he will also launch a tornado that follows you.All these two skill and that 3 area got locked up in phase 2 all got that similar visual effect like small particle flying around.It’s really hard to tell which one is just a visual effect and which one is the skill effect that will deal damage to you.On top of that we got a giant tornado that blocks the entire vertical area of your screen,while there are all kinds of deadly aoe skills all over the map.The whole boss fight is a complete mess.

2.Market
There are so many players intentionally lowering the price on the market so they can buy it at low price then sell it with higher price.It won’t matter even if game developers raise the drop rate.As a newcomer like me every time i drop something looks valuable,then search on the market,it only worth 1 ex or blow.So i will think this game got terrible drop rate.

3.Combat
As a player who has cleared all the soul series.It’s not hard to see GGG are trying to add soul like combat to poe2.Rolling works for the soul series because you never have to deal with 15+ enemy at same time.But in poe2 it’s a very common thing 15+ enemy swarming at you.Rolling seems powerless against these situations.
And the new roll mechanism doesn’t go well with the old stun mechanism.It’s all about press the dodge button at right moment and use that iframe to avoid the deadly damage.But in poe2 it won’t matter even if you press the dodge button at right moment,your character most likely got stunned and your dodge got delayed.So you will take the damage anyway.So maybe just delete the whole stun mechanism.

It’s a really unpleasant experience my character can be dragged around by enemy’s attack.Because it’s completely unpredictable. You never know where your character will finally end up.It’s a really unpleasant experience to get completely surrounded and stun to death.These two scenarios mentioned above can’t be avoided even if your character got powerful builds.And this will make players think their character are powerless despite all the efforts they put in.

Right now the only strategy is to obtain insanely high dps,and annihilate any enemy before they even get close.But the game developers think the game was too easy,and decide to nerf all the classes.It’s okay to make the game more challenging.But what poe2 is offering isn’t fun kind of challenge.The game doesn’t get as much positive reviews as the soul series kind of proved my point.When I defeat a boss I don’t feel that sense of achievement.All I feel is this mess is finally over. I think what most players want to see is all classes getting buffed.

This game got so many potentials.But it seems GGG have made some bad decisions while developing the game.Game developers can have their own vision about the game and ignore players voices.But at the end players will make their own choices too. Whether switch to the most overpowered build the game currently have or just switch to another game.In this season many players are using tangletongue no matter the class.The game got many negative reviews lately,and concurrent player are dropping.This is all saying something.Don’t ignore it before it was too late.Just give the players what they want.It's not too hard.
