Red glowing/spinning orbs dropped by enemies on maps?

What are these things? They get dropped often, I can't pickup/interact and they don't explode, maim or otherwise harm me...

Not sure the technical name of them, but its the corrupted stuff.
Once you kill larger groups of enemies around those "Blood Orbs" or whatever they are called, they merge together and spawn more packs. |
