Introduce Set Items (similar to D2) in Patch 0.4.0

For Content Patch 0.4.0 (as 0.3.0 is already in the works), GGG should consider adding Set Items to the game, similar to the way it was done in Diablo 2. Set items are designed with collectors in mind. As you equip two or more pieces of one Set, you will unlock mods on partially completed Sets or fully completed Sets, and tailored for certain level ranges and classes. It would be cool if GGG added one Set for each class.

As per the standard, Set items would be green items. To clarify, Set items would be comparable to a good Rare/Unique, but certainly not BiS or meta to avoid hampering build diversity. Lastly, Sets would only consist of 2/3 green pieces, making it possible to wear two full Sets at once depending on your setup.

Set items is literally what destroyed the balance of diablo 3. All they do is limit viable builds.
Good idea for the genre. Bad idea for Poe vision. Since GGG doesn't like best in slot kind of itemisation and they like us to work our way with items. So unless the set are as useful as uniques (which mean 99.9% useless) they wouldn't even think implementing them.

That's why I specifically mentioned Sets similar to Diablo 2. Sets in that game were designed correctly. Agreed Sets in Diablo 3 were bad.

Sets = All playing the same build & wearing same gear !

Worst idea ever !

No TY.

I'm not sure if you played D2, but people hardly wore full Sets in D2, as players rather use runewords like Enigma, Grief, etc. Sets were done correctly in D2 and were used occasionally, but was certainly not BiS or meta. You're thinking about D3 probably.

i kinda agree in the case, where having a set equiped can be as strong as a rare/unique fuII stuff.

aIso i think 2/3 green pieces is enough, not more.

To put it simply, I do NOT want to play Diablo in POE 2.
There are already plenty of old and obsolete game mechanics...

please, bring something new :)

PoE2 already has alot of similaries with D2, such as Runes, Uniques, Unidentified Items, etc. I disagree that everything needs to be completely new, which is difficult as this genre is pretty saturated. GGG could add Set items, just implement in their flavor and vision.

+1 if done correctly (like OP stated that means like in D2). Doesn’t need to be same but something like that would be great 👍
