Bosses have a long range of initiating combat

Some bosses, like the Ice witch, initiate their boss fight right as you get to the checkpoint, this is a problem because if you die afterwards the entire map resets, happened just a few minutes ago, got the checkpoint, noticed her boss dialogue in the chat, died a few minutes later, boom, everything is gone, there is another boss that does this I think, but I dont remember which one
