Nobody wants this ping-pong
Stop killing path of exile 1 for the inferior game of path of exile 2. We get it, you want money. You want your own baby. But not having a new league for a whole year in path of exile one when you explicitly stated it would not have an impact on either game is asinine. You literally took the bag and threw it away lmao. Way to fumble one of the best ARPGS of all time. Especially when path of exile 2 is boring and terrible.

Im ok with the ping pong as long as poe is still developed by the same people that have been doing it the last 3 years starting from settlers launch.
If they put poe2 devs on poe1 then its over. |

" What makes you think they are different devs. |

" Jonathan said that the poe1 devs they were using were some of their best and most experienced devs. So they pulled them off of poe1 for poe2. They say their player numbers are better for poe2. It suggests to me that they would keep them on poe2 and use new devs for poe1. There is a good chance all of this is taking so long because those experienced poe1 devs have been training new kids to take over poe1 while they work on poe2. |

" That seems a best-case scenario. We can hope |

That is worst case scenario imo, i would prefer the devs that have been working on it.

" I would too, but I'm afraid that seems unlikely. What I've gotten from the interviews, didn't watch everything, is that only Mark and Jonathan are allowed to make executive decisions on content and Mark, our PoE1 guy, has to do 2 for the foreseeable future. Given the pace and acceptance of 2's patches, it's going to take a shit ton of time to make that game work to retain an acceptable number of players. Seems to me if they still plan on Christmas release for 2, it's going to look like an Amazon Gaming worthy cluster fuck. But maybe that's just me. In any case, that leaves 1, well, where we are now |

" Ya, its unfortunate. If i had to guess, they will throw a few old league mechanics core. Add a half baked league mechanic that shits out loot and no balance and call it 3.26. Ive been so apathetic about this whole thing for so long I'm tempted to just quit playing all together. |

100%. I've been playing this game since closed beta way back in the day. I LOVE this game. I'll probably play 3.26 to try it out. But the amount of times that I've wanted to come back to this game have been getting fewer and farther in between. It's stagnant with no real new content. Settler and Necro were basically just the same game with a third party mechanic. Affliction was just a loot pinyata. No new interactions in mapping besides picking up coins and whatnot. I'm hoping the expansion helps that, and a new league is the sprinkling on top.
It's unfortunate because this is the only game I want to play at any given moment, but settlers for 321 days before this new league has been insanity. Alternate ascendancies was a cool piece of candy for a few days. It's just all felt so half baked. I played poe 2 back in december when it all shat the bed and they had to pull everyone off poe 1 to fix poe 2. Both experiences have felt bad and nothing but gimmies to try to satisfy all the BS. In the mean time; i've been playing every other ARPG under the sun to try and scratch the itch. Last edited by Linaxx#7222 on May 24, 2025, 10:51:17 AM

To be fair you may just be missing out on the new experiences linaxx. They have added valdos maps and t17s in the time periods you speak of. Love them or hate them they're there.
