Died outside a never-entered boss arena, wiped the map

In the Mire map, where the boss is in an arena. I got close to the waystone and even used it to teleport to another part of the map, but never entered the boss arena. Something killed me and I found myself returned to the boss waypoint, but my minimap was black, and the entire map had reset. Lost two different events, and I had 2 lives left.

If even coming into range of a boss waypoint can trigger the behavior, we should be prompted before that effect activates. I was using that waypoint for convenience, and I think a lot of people do that, so they can clear the map's events and return to the boss.
