What was the point of adding more Artificer Orbs if you took out 90% of the RUNES that matter..

Done multiple SSFHC toons, testing leveling, campaign.
Now that Artificer Orbs are more common its pretty ok (not easy) but ok to socket every new item I get, still need to go through most vendors every level up I get to buy all the socketed items..

BUT..

After the new patch that brought in STAT runes it messed something up BAD.
Now the runes for resistances, flat damage for weapons or the increased phys runes are NOWHERE TO BE FOUND.. I KID YOU NOT I DROP JEWELLER ORBS MORE OFTEN then these runes.

I feel you. For some reason i have not found Iron runes and lightning res runes at all. Very frustrating. I have all kind of nonsense runes in my stash but not the ones i need. Especially iron runes are important to buff new weapon.

That's why it should be possible to morph runes into other ones. I've exactly the same problem you've described guys, too low res/phys damage runes drop.
