boss Zeoka bugged?

Hello.
The boss Zeoka (the ape) doesn't deal any damage when hitting me with his pillar. I remember during the campaign the pillar was really dangerous. In the last fight it dealt 0 or at least very low damage. Maybe I dodged the damage? That would mean the slam would be categorized as dodgeable which seems wrong.
