Item rarity

If item rarity is such a contentious issue would you consider removing it from gear and making it so you gain increase rarity as you progress through the campaign just like the negative buff to your resistances. Make it so by the time you reach end game you will have all the item rarity you will need and it will make it also better to balance currency drops bc every character will have the same amount of rarity come end game

you are on to something and this is a great question and you brought up 1 of the major issues still in game todate.. . but allow me to explain why while your suggestion is cool and interesting and maybe be an help and step in right direction why it doesnt solve the problem about rarity and offer a better one .


so.. if we are honest rarity has more issues than just rarity on gear. . and its much deeper and complex than that becuse even if you remove rarity from gear it still keeps the problems in endgame about how you juice and scale loot via toxic ways like 3 over lapping towers and 9 overlapping tablets with specific modes (rarity/quant mainly rarity) and how 95% of all the maps you find are useless becuase if you added 6 modes on your map and it doesnt have a high % of increae rarity .. you are much better throwing away your map than running it. .

the reason for that is becuase how the entire loot system is bad and not good for the game.. and is full of issues that will keep being an issue..

the solution GGG should take and what they should;ve done instead of fake "buffing loot" is to entirely rework the loot system and base it on someting different than rarity or they cna always take poe 1 system of endgame and loot. . but ya removing rarity on gear while will be step in right direction will not fix the major and wider scale issue with loot system and thats that the entire loot system how its designed is flawed and bad.. and it need to go entirely
Agree. I would much prefer if quality of loot was simply tied to the tier of the content that you play like in literally every other rpg on the planet. They could use the tablet system for adding extra layers of content like "maps with breaches will have two breaches" or "50% chance of another boss spawning after the boss fight".
It just really sucks in the current system that you can be in deep endgame but still have to run a plethora of empty super lame maps instead of doing the kind of maps that you want to do.

or they could use an already perfected to the top perfection system from PoE 1.. called Scarabs? :D and remove towers and tablets.. . and then also copy poe 1 atlass tree which is also a master piece? perfection doesnt even come close to describe poe 1 atlass tree

But if they do copy poe1 mechanics, poe2 becomes poe1 enhanced and what Chris said during 2019 announcement won't be relevant. Oh wait...

the best thing they can do for poe 2 is actually delete poe 2 and make visual update to poe 1 and engine update.. lets face reality poe 2 sucks and even if you like it.. the majority doesnt.... and its not in a state where it can get so much better or crazy potential.. it only has good engine and good graphic but all the rest .... is not good.. they said they want to release this year i cant wait for poe 2 1.0 not becuase i want to play it buy becuse i want people to finally stop using the "its EA" as an excuse to everything

I have no idea why GGG scrapped POE1's Atlas Passive Tree and Scarabs. It was perfect. Players got to choose and play their desired content, enhance the corresponding rewards, and block the content they didn't like.

Really doesn't get any better than this. It can only be made worse. Enter POE2.

Because they're two different games and PoE1 still exists, so play it if you prefer it. I really like the atlas system in 2.

and players didnt even have to spend 10 hours looking for 3 overlapping towers and then trans 9999999999999999 tablets to get 9 tablets with rarity/quant

and then to exalt 999999999999 maps 2-4 times each to find few maps with high incrase rarity .. . to play a map :D yah idk man.. . maybe GGG thought it would be too much fun.

Your solution will have the exact same end result as just removing it.
If the end result is that everyone just has the same by default and cant increase it then there is no reason for it to exist.

Personally I like rarity
