Exp penalty on death and maps
Maybe i just don't understand but the 10% death penalty feels excessive when it's on top of literally going into a map with 2-3 handicaps in the form of waystone suffix. I run maps to hopefully get better gear. that's generally a gamble but if i find nothing in 10 ish maps, shouldn't i be at the very least be guaranteed a level?
so, yes you should be guaranteed a level if you don't die and you can get incrementally strong from levels. but there's just so much going against a player getting into a map and its not like running a lower tier map guarantees survival that would be worth the drop in gear quality. maybe im just frustrated? its probably a skill issue? I dont even know what i'm going for. maybe don't punish me 10% i've earned over the course of 2 maps of not finding any gear to improve survivability? gotta go touch grass for a few weeks maybe. Omen of Amelioration is your friend.
he's also really cheap now. (and no, guaranteed levels without dying is a bad baseline idea) Last edited by DarKWolF90#6544 on May 14, 2025, 3:23:24 PM

XP loss on death needs to go if they're not going to give us a death recap.
The only times I ever die is from random 1-shots I have no idea that are even occurring. Seriously kills any desire I have to play. You just can't progress after a point. One death sets you back dozens of maps worth of experience, you're not finding any upgrades, I can't upgrade any of my items or skills because of the attribute requirements and resistance requirements, etc. |

" If you are getting one shotted then you are not ready to level up. Wherever you top of at...Level 87,88,94,95.. That is your skill level. You need to learn to get better to level up higher than wherever you are. You are not entitled to any level once you get to end-game. If you can't earn it then you don't deserve it. Omen of Ameliroation's are your friend, but at some point if your build is not good enough, you will just keep dying. And, just because you die, it doesn't stop you from gringing out maps and getting currency to keep getting better gear, or to learn craft your own gear. I'm around a level 95,96 player. I always seem to top out there. I'm grinding and trying to and move past level 96 and not crying on the forums about how the game should just give me what I demand. |

Suffixes don't help with gear or xp. If you're struggling to keep xp than avoid as many suffixes as possible.
The omen that makes alchemy orbs roll 3 prefixes 1 suffix help with this a lot. "Beidat honored the pact, though Mancy wouldn't take off Doryani’s prototype."

I like the idea of xp loss on death - it's nice to see not everyone at max level and if you're being 1 shot by things the few extra skill points isn't going to help you...
