Whirling slash wont engage

I always seem to run after engaging whirling slash once. When i engage it and hold the button down he engages once then my toon just moves without engaging again. When i hold shift to move in place the toon obviously stays still. Is there a setting so that you can use this as a mobility skill like i see in all the tutorials?


Basically I assigned "Q" to lvl 1 whirling slash and sometimes if my cursor is juuust right he'll move forward and engage it a couple times but he typically just runs and he wont continue using that skill even with the button held down.
