Path of Exile 2 Optimization Feedback – Late-Game Performance Issues
|
Dear GGG Team,
First of all, thank you for all the hard work that’s gone into Path of Exile 2 so far. The gameplay and build systems are shaping up to be incredibly deep and rewarding — I’ve enjoyed the journey immensely. However, I wanted to share some honest feedback as a committed player with a high-end system who is currently struggling to enjoy the late-game experience due to severe performance issues during certain map setups. 🖥️ My System Specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 7600X GPU: RX 7800 XT (Gigabyte Gaming OC) RAM: 32GB DDR5 Display: LG OLED CX @ 1440p Storage: Crucial P3 Gen4 SSD FPS Cap: 72 FPS FSR: Balanced Settings: All graphical settings on Low or Off 🧩 Where the Problem Arises: In particular, maps like Savannah and Steaming Springs become nearly unplayable when juiced with mechanics like Delirium and Breach. Even on minimal settings, the game struggles heavily with: Frame stuttering Input lag Significant FPS dips into the 30s Shader recompilation mid-map, despite prior runs This occurs despite a capped frame rate, low particle settings, and adjusted sound channels — suggesting that the issue is likely engine-level and not user error or hardware limitation. ❗ Why This Matters: As a long-time fan of ARPGs and someone who’s spent hundreds of hours in both Path of Exile 1 and 2, this feels disheartening. I genuinely want to push further into the endgame, but current optimization issues are making it difficult to enjoy content that should be a highlight of the experience. 🙏 A Humble Request: If possible, please consider prioritizing: Better thread optimization for high-entity density areas Persistent shader caching (especially on Vulkan) Reworking or optimizing Delirium + Breach overlap scenarios, particularly in wide-open maps like Savannah I know the game is still evolving, and I have full faith in the team to bring the performance up to the standard the gameplay deserves. Thank you again for your continued dedication — I'm excited for what lies ahead. Warm regards, Last bumped on May 8, 2025, 3:20:42 PM
