Transmutation/augmentation orb hoarding

Are you sitting there with 200+ transmutations when having like 100h into a league?

I think something should be added as a sink into these orbs, like rune crafting or something useful. At the endgame you no need almost these (just for your routinary needs)

Strongboxes.
Good white bases.
Charms.
Flasks.

The sink is called a loot filter. You're expected to stop picking these up at higher levels.

I keep looting those so I can craft flasks and charms mainly.

On occasion, if I find a good white item base, I will transmutation and augmentation first, so I don't blow through an alchemical orb needlessly.

Even with these, there is plenty of them. I think the answer is to stop bothering picking them up (with an item filter), but somehow doesn't feel right to me.
