leap slam

I started leveling a Smith the last few days and ive noticed something very odd. Id say 80% of the time it deal no damage to adds directly under your landing zone. it shifts them slightly but won't deal damage. Im assuming this is a bug, if it's not it makes this skill worthless single target. Further more explain to me how a Flying Warrior with 2 2h weapons can't deal damage to what he lands on?
