Two Negatives don't make a positive they make a double negative...

There are way too many negatives in this game. I can understand some negatives and can see them in the items but why are there also then negatives on skill gems, in the passive tree, and in the ascendancy tree. They are everywhere it's absolutely insane. Please pick a place for the negatives and stay with it. It absolutely kills the fun of building a character and hitting roadblock after roadblock of stupid little things. And this includes gem and equipment attribute requirements.

Now i will say, that little rant was brought on while playing the Tactician of which i am sure they put together in about 5 minutes just to put something out for Dawn of the Hunt, so i may be a little upset right now. But seriously wtf is going on GGG. This was supposed to be the "season of the buff" but other than the loot buff what am i playing right now. Where are some class balance buffs? The tacti skill has a cooldown that's far too long, multiple banners should allow banners of the same type. take the negatives to max armor and max evasion off the ascendancy tree.

GGG just dropped stats and the top classes basically use the same mechanics the only different was the lich. please make some changes to the outlying classes(all the classes below 5% played).

Oh and Trail of Caltrops is bugged AF and seriously needs some love.

This game has so much potential it's just so frustrating to see great opportunities wasted.

That being said I still want to believe that this game will be great some day, and want to say thanks for putting in the hard work to make it so.

Listen I'm not saying the Ascendancy is perfect or even necessarily impressive, but this is just shallow and unfair. You had a plan for a build that didn't work out because you can't stack banners. It happens. Make a new plan - try something else. (Incidentally I disagree that multiple banners should be allowed; I feel like this goes pretty hard against the theme of the Ascendancy - slamming War Banners down on top of each other so you can go super uber DPS isn't especially tactical).

I finished up the night on my Tactician with a 31s Xesht +2 kill, then a Xesht +3 that was admittedly a little slower. King in the Mists +3 was a close call, but I got him. Some footage from a juiced T16 Delirium Mirror to boot...

Again, I'm not saying the Ascendancy is perfect. It obviously needs balancing (which we should expect since it's new), but I'm running a "figured it out" build in a kit worth <5 divines total and I'm on pace to clear all content so I think it's not nearly as broken and disappointing as you're implying.

Nope, "lack" of friction is boring.
But friction is NEVER fun, friction is friction, by very definition it's bothersome, tedious and unfun.
From reading your post I had the impression you took something you don't like and put the blame on it for struggling with your build...yeah sure the negative things are annoying but you reaching roadblocks with your build has nothing to do with it, just try things...there's tons of gems now to work with.
