Victims of their own success

Felt like chiming in really fast.

I think a lot of the anger and stupidity popping off of late has a lot to do with this game actually being AMAZING.

People just play too hard, they min max too much. They obsess and theory craft to a degree beyond anything we've ever seen before.

Could you imagine if htis game had come out 20 years ago before all the spoiled masses in this space tore content to shreds in a matter of days?

This game is remarkable. And if people are burned out, if people are b*tt hurt over some friggin' skill balance...

GOOD! Go outside, catch some fresh air, play another genre for a bit. Path of Exile will THRIVE without your condescensions.

I haven't played much of late, but i'm looking forward to when the energy is a bit more mellow here and people aren't pushing so hard and taking everything so damned seriously.

I look forward to the times when we can just enjoy playing this game again, and let's have a little faith those will come.

I don't know what this community's deal is, but maybe we all need to take a bit of a chill pill.

It becomes a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy, if everyone whines and moans and throws a fit, and decry's this game isn't fun any more... it's not going to be very fun.

Maybe the problem isn't with GGG or POE 2, maybe the problem is you.

It got lied to and backstabbed. That is the deal with us.
100% agreed, metaslaves and their mentality have really damaged pretty much most big online games.

They are no longer able to just have fun and progress in gear, no they must follow an optimal guide, farm like its somekind of real paying job with the most ridiculous methods and of course complain about anything that will reduce the speed of progress as if their entire self worth and value as a person depends on finishing the game asap

They have only themselves to blame

Unlike every other ARPG company, GGG care about the long term. This means that if something isn't working, they're willing to temporarily break the game (e.g. by making the campaign way harder) to get the data they need to balance something else.

In a culture where everyone expects instant gratification that was always going to result in a chorus of screeching. From the way the updates have been worded I think they knew in advance what it was going to be like, perhaps not how dramatic the backlash would be, but they approached reworking how endgame difficulty and rarity work with a plan.

And after all that's what open betas are for.

People feel the game is not currently in a good place, everything takes too long to achieve with very little reward for a majority of players which is why most people are giving their critiques on an early access product so it can be developed for the better, posts like this only serve to ignore all criticism the game is rightfully facing and make it out like POE 2 is a perfect work of art where there are clearly areas it can improve.

So, basically, if they release on market a car which sucks, your reply would be "Imagine if this was released 20 years ago!"

How dumb. LOL.

yeah literally this
They are forced to play the meta build so they can compete on the market. I was in shock when multiple people here said this exact phrase to me.
I think you are conflating all of the feedback into one lump, you see it as a negative. There are many constructive feedback posts highlighting issues and without all of that feedback very little would ever change.

Is the game good, yes, is the game great, no. The game needs time to evolve and I am sure that in a couple of years it will be amazing and one of the best ARPG's ever. But it needs time, i think too many want instant change rather than a slower pace which it currently is.

I mean it does not have proper crafting yet, so of course there is a ton of issues with loot.!!

I am just jumping on and off, playing other games mostly but will always return to try things out. Think too many now just become fixated on a single game, which imo is just not healthy.

Just my two cents.
Yeah, maybe the game grows and gets over these speed bumps. Maybe it doesn't, maybe the best days are behind.

But why is everyone going out of their way to choke it out and kill it?

Do we want this game to get better? Or do we want to smother it?

It's absolutely childish how we are behaving.
