GGG, come and admit it finally

I agree, the communication is dismal

I am fully prepared for another "no one worked on PoE1 XD" surprise in June...
GGG wanted to use an Exalted Orb on their development process but they grabbed a Chaos Orb instead.

It will probably take a while until they have vague idea what they can actually promise and at what rate they can now release things, but I highly doubt they plan to abandon PoE1.
No more leagues equals no more nerfs. Poe already has 10 times the content d4 and last epoch have, so it would hardly mean the death of the game.

But of course there WILL be new leagues, because all poe 2, d4 and LE have managed to amount to is a shining poe 1 endorsement.

Well unless the vision of doom comes true. You just can't beat the vision.

At least if poe 2 wasnt dogsh*t... but itis big time. So damn boring. I don't even know what they expected after the vision failed so many times and sunk leagues when it was implemented in poe 1. Then tehy handpicked every element people disliked here and made it into a game. Insane. I wouldn't care if it didn't mean neglecting POE 1 which is still a better game than POE2 ever will be.
They have the best ARPG there is, been the case for the past 10 years or so. I don't think they'll just let that go. They made some bad decisions obviously regarding resources and timeframes, so it's been a mess last six months. Let's hope they've learned from it and can do better from now on!

Siege of the Atlas was 3 years ago.

That was the last expansion and the last time GGG under-promised and over-delivered on an update. The reaction from the community is what this game has been missing since.

The leagues that followed have been hit or miss but ultimately the game is just coasting on what 3.17 introduced. The opportunity cost of developing PoE 2 means PoE 1 hasn't gotten it's next mind-blowing expansion--That has been the impact of 'bad decisions regarding resources and timeframes'. And that would have been fine if PoE 2 was everything players expected and more but it clearly didn't turn out that way.

GGG were the ones who set the expectation of having both games developed without impacting each other. Someone else here mentioned that GGG will get to that point as if this is just a temporary blip. What was revealed by 3.26's lengthy delay is that GGG's mismanagement has been going on for years. Almost nobody has been working on PoE 1. As bad as that is, PoE 2 is still years away from resembling a 1.0 release. All of the missing classes, ascendancies, weapons (and thus skills) and the remaining campaign is not something that is going to be finished any time soon.

This has been and will continue to be a multi-year setback to PoE 1's development.
I think GGG trying to make the game harder or better for streamers killed it for everyone else.

It wasn't that long ago that most builds ran phase acrobatics with shields and an explode chest as the total defense layer with 3k life.

Just look at the trajectory of mirror items over the years and you will see many unusable items against archnemesis monsters.

Poe has become less about making a build work and more about doing what the designers want. Any player can feel it when using unsupported skills. Look what happened to chaos dot, it is so much more clunky and slow then what it was designed to be.

When every build needs spell suppression or 85 max res, you messed up.

They had some internal turmoil, layoffs, walkouts etc

and people aren't easily replaceable over there due to strict immigration laws and being a very geographically isolated country with rather sparse population.

If you're looking to move as far away from bulk of human population as you can imagine, New Zealand is possibly the most remote area in the world in this sense. It's second only to Antarctica landmass further south.

And POE II turned out to be in much rougher shape than initially anticipated, so they had to use whatever little resources they have to work on that.

I want a new POE1 league too and we'll likely get one this summer. But I wouldn't count for 3.27 happening within the usual 3/4 month period after 3.26 does either.
