HeartBreaker works on summons?

The unique reads "All spells have culling strike"

Summons are a spell so does that mean every minion has culling strikes?

Am looking for a viable replacement for midnight bargain. I want more survivability but I don't want to sacrifice too much dps and making all my summons have an extra support gem sounds pretty good.

with MB 2.8k hp
w/o MB 4.3k hp - pretty big differnce

My understanding of it yes.

Why becouse Heartbreaker has the effect like if every spell had the culling strike gem in link with it.

And minions work with the culling strike support gem linked to them there for that is why they work with Heartbreaker.

Wow I never thought of this, I found a heartbreaker last week and have been using it with arc to finish stuff off but if it works with my zombies as well I hadn't noticed. That would be great.

I didnt tried it yet but i tend to think it doesnt work as well. This effect would work as you cast the spell, once casted, it wouldnt work. So that would mean the second you cast yoru summons it would work ( if it have to work) but once casted,not at all.

My assumptions are if you put a culling strike into a socket the minion would have culling strike so a unique effect should do the same. From what I experienced minions are always "casting" they retain all of the support gems attached even if you take those support gems out once casted.

Another possibility is that it only works on spell casting spectres. I had this idea b/c someone who was using this in his summoner build was absolutely convinced it actually worked.

I have never had the heartbreaker myself to try it. But I know other summoners that use it and swear by it.

In theory much like yours the support gem I know for a fact works. So I'm thinking ya thoughs guys that use it and swear by it are probly right. It probly do's work.

And it probly works on all summons zombies/skellys/Spec/and even totems.

how does dominating blow work with culling strike effect on weapon or culling strike as gem?

will your minions also get culling strike? i want to make a magic find build based on it!

If you are refering to the heartbreaker unique: That won't effect dominating blow as db is an attack, not a spell (BTW it also won't effect raised zombies/spectres and summoned skeletons either as "Neither passive skills nor stats from your other equipment affect minions unless they specifically say "Minions _____"." like the wiki says)
If you are supporting db with the culling strike gem on the other hand, then the dominated minion will have culling strike too. To cite the wiki again: "Any support gem that can apply to both an attack as well as a minion skill will function on both the attack made by Dominating Blow as well as any minions who are dominated as a result of the attack."
