Feedback - Chaotic Freeze / Voltaxic Rift - Pathfinder General

I just wanted to give a small feedback regarding a build I've tried and the limitations I ran into. The theme of Voltaxic Rift sounded amazing to me, being able to use lightning skills on my pathfinder and still deal big poison damage because of the damage conversion to chaos seemed amazing. Planning to make a build that's using primarily Lightning Arrow + Electrocuting Arrow for Electrocution to make Frenzy Charges to use with Spiral Arrow I quickly realized that the LA + EA combo won't work cuz my damage isn't Lightning anymore. My next idea was to use the Chaotic Freeze Support Gem - considering my damage was now purely Chaos I thought this might work really well, just to realize that the Gem is not Socketable on any of my Arrow Skills. I am not quite sure why Chaotic Freeze needs to be locked out of these Skills, I feel like it would open up a lot of fun combos. Most imporantly: Pathfinder. It was my first character in 0.1.0 and I really fell in love with the whole Concotion theme. The ascensions skill set in general felt lackluster and I was really excited about the changes, but it turns out the whole identity of the class kind of died with them. Concotions basically got double nerfed - not being able to support them via Widowhail/Weapons in general feels thematically wrong, and also really limits the possibilities of damage scaling with it. Using 5 flask charges makes it so that you virtually have to run a bunch of gear that helps you recharge quicker, leaving you way squishier that you had to be last season. I might be missing the knowledge to make it work, but considering I haven't seen any proper PF builds (except for Rue's XBow build), I do think it really is lacking. Traveller's wisdom still feels like the best passive (which feels way too generic to be interesting from a building perspective); Contagious Contamination is a worse Herald of Plague, and overwhelming toxicity being at 4 points makes it impossible to go for it and Running Assault (easily the second best after Travellers Wisdom) Practical Remedies feels overwhelmingly useless, as Ignite and Shock are virtually never a problem, and Freeze is easily solved by a charm (since having 3 charm slots is way easier now this feels even worse) - Sustainable Practices sounds amazing but still, it feels wrong to slot it in, when you have to either leave out Traveller's Wisdom, Overwhelming toxicity or Running Assault to be able to take it. I sincerely hope PF will get some love soon - till then I'm gonna enjoy buildcrafting some of the other classes :) Last bumped on Apr 26, 2025, 3:51:41 PM
