Hey man. Good job on quoting my post you didn't read. Did you quote it to make it seem like you read it or something? LOL.

Sadly I can't just link '1', but I promise I'm not trying to brag. I know people are sitting on like 1k exalted orbs.

@Chongo666

Sorry but since you don't have an exalted orb I will have to kindly request that you leave this thread. It is not for you. You can still be cool, just not as cool as you would be if you had an exalted orb.

But I sold it for more then it's worth - isn't that the point , I mean if I hold onto it then its just a useless rock.
1. Found 9 Exalted by myself
2. Sold em all for 60 Alch each
3. Opened my Jewelery-Factory
4. Earned 20 Exalted Equ with those Rings/Amuletts
5. Now my Cleaver melt lvl70+content like a Boss
6. More Killspeed, More Xp, More Currency

But yeah, just keep keeping your Exalteds, which add in avergae "+12 ES", "7%cold", or +4-8 fire dam" to your existing Gear...

What is the OP doin? Just a desperate try to Keep the crap called Exalted more or less worthy.

Bubble will collapse, sooner or later...

Two things:

"But I sold it for more then it's worth - isn't that the point"

I have no idea when you sold it. So I can't really comment because I don't know the rate at the time, or when you actually performed the transaction. Hopefully you did it back when exalted orbs were worth 15 chaos roughly!

"I mean if I hold onto it then its just a useless rock."

No, it's only useless if you have no rare to use it on. :) Let me give you some insight into my thinking:

Ex 1: You could argue that using the exalted orb on a level 1 rare item means that it is useful. Technically you would be right, it has use.

Ex 2: You could argue that selling an exalted orb for some low price, aka the current price, means that it is useful in getting you currency. Again, technically you would be right, it has use.

However, in both cases you are severely under-utilizing the potential maximum value that the exalted orb could have net you if used in a different manner. And for the two examples that I gave, each has several alternative uses that would net much higher value for you.

Sorry to burst your bubble but this game doesn't revolve around making as much currency as you can.
Maybe you might wanna go play some diablo 3 and have some fun on the auction house? You'd fit in nicely.

Really? Please elaborate how it doesn't work as such. I'll present two arguments and you can evaluate them. This is my logic, so feel free to correct me. I have a philosophy final coming up next week so sorry that this is so formal, I can't stop thinking in structured arguments :(

- Argument for Most Efficient Leveling: -

The goal of this game is to level up in an efficient manner.
To level up efficiently you need to acquire maps.
The most efficient way to acquire maps is to spend money.
Thus, the most efficient way to level up in an efficient manner is to spend money.

In Other Words: If you had enough money to buy 77 maps and run them nonstop with amazing rolls, you would be leveling up in the most efficient manner.

- Argument for Efficient Leveling: -

The goal of this game is to level up in an efficient manner.
To level up efficiently you need to acquire maps.
An efficient way to acquire maps is to roll maps with currency and run them.
Thus, to level up in an efficient manner, roll maps and run them.

In Other Words: If you would like to level up efficiently roll maps and run them.

As you can see, both require currency in some shape or form. Maybe you disagree the goal of this game is to level up though? Maybe you think the goal is to have fun? But then I'd argue that having fun entails fighting monsters that present a challenge and are rewarding, which is something you need currency to do. Maybe you know another way to level up that doesn't require currency that is still efficient? I can't wait to read your feedback and give my own feedback. I'm so excited! :D

You don't seem to understand my point though;
This game, does NOT revolve around sitting on your ass all day, trying to make as much currency as you can, as fast as you can. But hey, who am I to tell you how to play.
I have had some retarded friends on hardcore who would sit in town all day, do nothing but buy items from trade/forums, and then re-sell them for a higher profit just to gain more currency, and even then they wouldn't leave town, the game was just a trading simulator to them. I don't get it, do you feel somewhat superior staring at your stash with 5000 exalted orbs? maybe if you're a deranged idiot.
